Hi Lance: I wanted to add that my book will have 7 lesson plans free downloadable at the pub. website for teachers on the book's release. There are also plans to distribute the CD of the abridged version of the book. It's endorsed by Dr. Rich Allen and educational consultant Ron Nash. I'll keep you posted on the release date.
I went to this year before last and heard Jerry Jenkins speak at the writer's conf. There were other great speakers that week and a lot of editors listening to pitches. I hope to have a table one day for my new poetry book coming out based on Anne Frank's diary- BEING FRANK WITH ANNE. It's causing a buzz already.
Lance, I absolutely loved BEA. Would like to suggest the idea of adding Two book sighing tables and maybe a third table for new authors to hang out and talk to people to attract attention to the New Title show case. The area was beautiful and I think something like this would really enhance its effectiveness
Sorry I missed you at the show. My book signing was scheduled for the same time as the Shelari event, so I will have to wait for the podcast. The show was just spectacular. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be the shows director. As a new author at my first BEA I have to say it was one of the most exciting weekends of my life. I only have one bit of constructive criticism. The New Title Showcase was a beautiful area right by the front door but it attracted very little attention. Everyone walked around it instead of through it. It would have had much more impact if everyone had to walk past the shelves as they entered.
I am already looking forward to next years show.
