What I love best about books is that they are unchanging. In a world where everything around us and within us is renewed, restored, or destroyed each day, the characters in a our favorite books remain an anchor. I can open that book and know that even though I am different, they are the same. I can learn new things from them because I have a new perspective. Or I can escape my present sorrows in their static world of delight. Books are marvelous things! « less
