Khim

Hello readers,

My name is Khim, I live in The Netherlands with my boy friend, my dog and parrot.

I'm a real book junkie and read a lot of books.

But I read the most historical romance/novelles, crime and mystery, true stories, chicklit and so forth.

I like to meet a lot of great people and that we can talk...more »

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

    Hi Khim,
I really enjoyed Hello Darkness. I read that one twice.
I'm really excited. I got an advance copy of "Hidden" by Eve Kenin in the mail from her publisher today! I just loved her last book called "Driven". Have you read it? I would give it 5 stars. This is the first advanced (due out in July) copy I've ever gotten. I think it's cool anyway. :-)
Hope all is well with you. It's finally warming up here. It's about +5 C.

    Hi Khim!

Haven't heard from you in a long time! What have you been up too and reading. I'm on a Christmas theme for books. It must be because it's -20C and we have about a 1 1/2 ft. of snow!. The snow I don't mind, but I wish it would warm up.

    Hope all is well.

Hi Khim! I'm doing good. Fall is here too. That I don't mind but I hope winter stays away for awhile. I'm not ready for that yet and it gets way to darn cold.

What are you up to these days? My kids are getting geared up for Halloween. One if the Bride of Frankenstein, one is Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the last is Woody from Toy Story.

I think you'll like Driven. It's really different. I wasn't sure at first but then I really got into it. Now I'm reading other books from that Shomi line. I'm also reading Scuze Me While I Kill This Guy by Leslie Langtry. It's pretty good. It's a mystery/romance about a family of hitmen. It's a funny book.

Have a good weekend. I'm off to a meeting today, so that beats the heck out of sitting in the office today! And if I sit in the back by the door maybe I can "sneak" out early. :-} TGIF

    Hi Khim,

I hate the fall. I get so busy and it seems like I hardly have any time to read these days. I'm glad you liked Eve's book. She's just a fantastic author. She's one of the few on my auto-buy list. I hope the quality of her books stays up as she's really putting them out (3 a year) these days. I just finished her latest book called Demon's Kiss. That was pretty good. Not quite as good as her Gothics or Driven was but well worth reading.

I just picked up Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Cruisie and Bob Mayer. I see you have The Dim Sum of All Things on your list. Have you read it? I need to read it fast this week as Monday is the deadline and this is my book club read. Toxic Bachelor. I haven't heard of this one, I'll have to look that one up.

    Take care,
    Chris

    Hi Khim,

Yep, I'm still reading! I just finished The Bride Finder by Susan Carroll. I've got way too many books in my TBR pile right now. It's hard to decide what to pick up next! : } I read Driven by Eve Kenin (aka Eve Silver) last week and I loved it so I think I'm going to try another book from the Shomi line called Wired by Liz Maverick.
You're going to love His Dark Kiss. Great book! If you like it do try His Dark Desires too. It's really good. Her latest Dark Prince was still good but not nearly as good as these two. IMO :)
Hope all is well. Is it starting to cool off there yet? You can tell fall is coming here but we're getting one last glimpse of summer this weekend and its suposed to be over 30 C. I'm glad. I'm just not ready for summer to end yet!

    Have a good weekend!

    Hi Khim!

I just finished up High Noon by Nora Roberts but I don't think I would recommend it. It was just like Blue Smoke and I wasn't big on that one either. Angels Fall and Northern Lights were much better. I think, anyways. :) I just got Linda Howards latest Up Close and Dangerous. I don't know about that one either? Its not getting great reviews on the RT boards. I'm also suposed to start The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn. It's our book club latest pick. If you ever want to join let one of us know and we'll get Tawyna (she's the moderator) to send you a invite. There are 1/2 dozen or so of us on Shelfari (Jace, Maggie, Happy Budha, Lisa, Stephanie and others ?? I forget) and we have a bookclub too. Its very low key and everyone is nice. If you don't like the pick you don't have to read it. Everyone takes a turn picking the book once a month.

As far as books to recommend. I see you have Erin McCarthy on your bookshelf. Have you read Heiress for Hire by Erin McCarthy? I just read it a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Otherwise have you read Mr Perfect or Open Season by Linda Howard? Both are really good. I just checked out Superstition from the library by Karen Robards for a re-read. I enjoyed that one. Ghost Moon and Hunters Moon by Karen Robards are excellent too.

Have a good weekend. Hope you find something good to read!
