This is a work in progress...
I am an Entomologist still trying to become a professional ecologist. I have just finished my dissertation and am busily searching for a 'real' job...when not reading good books for my Shelfari page!
I just moved to Denmark with my wife who started a post-doc at the University of Copenhagen, so my tendency to collect books, rocks, interesting bits and bobs of natural history has been curtailed because I don't want to haul all of it to our next destination in a couple of years.
I am trying to mend my weakness for advertising and mass consumerism but a lifetime of bad habits makes it hard to tread lightly on the earth somedays. Some of the books I have found on this site have rekindled my interest in finding ways to do a better job at being ecological sound and reducing my impact. We will see how that struggle goes.
Book-wise I grew up reading Science Fiction and Fantasy. Now I have a much broader interest but can't resist a good read of any sort. « less
