Carmel, and the Monterey Peninsula, has attracted the likes of poets Robinson Jeffers and George Sterling; authors John Steinbeck, Jack London, Dean Koontz, Robert Campbell, and Robert Louis Stevenson; and a myriad of actors, including...more »

Now is your chance to help decide which two titles will be picked as The Gilded Pen Book Club's reads for July and win a copy of either DUCHESS BY NIGHT by Eloisa James or AFTER THE KISS by Suzanne Enoch!

Just check out the post on our club page to enter!

More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

    Hi Kemberlee,

I just realized that I never responded to your note of a few weeks ago about improvements to Shelfari. Thanks for taking the time and thought. I'll pass those along to our experience team and see what we can do to get it better.

Also, I saw that you're from Carmel. I grew up just outside of Laguna Beach and went to school in Palo Alto, so I can visualize the experience you describe. The only place more beautiful to me than Laguna is the drive from Carmel to Big Sur.

    Hope you're well.

Oh, Kem, I'm sooooo jealous!!! LOL. I really wanna go to Hay-on-Wye, At least a dozen people have taunted me about that place. Bookaholic heaven!

My son will be in Ireland over the Christmas Holidays but he won't take me with him. What? I'm not as important as his gf? Uh, well, noooooo . . . :)
