Live in rural northeastern PA. Married with 3 teenage girls. Love the outdoors, playing tennis and reading. The whole family enjoys reading. So many books, so little time.
Being well read is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.

When I saw you were reading Lone Wolf, I was waiting for your take on it. I wait anxiously every spring for the new Jodi book, but I was also disappointed in this one. I read it in record time because I skipped all the Luke parts...lol.

Thanks for joining the Mystery & Suspense group!  Tell us something about you in the Introduce Yourself discussion topic and who are some of your favorite authors in this genre.

Our current books for group discussion are Hunter by Robert Bidinotto and Deal Breaker by Harlan Coben. We hope you can join in on the discussions.  Our next book for discussion in March is Kill Me Twice by Roxanne St. Claire and hope you will participate on March 20.

Lastly, we feature authors each week, proving background info along with their bibliographies. Be sure to check out the author of the week recommendations section and add any you'd like to see included. Hi Kelly,
Finished Killing Floor and unsurprisingly gave it five stars. Was a bit worried at first when Jack was in jail, didn't see where it was heading, but should have known better of Lee Child! Still trying to decide whether I want to add it to my list of favourites. I do try not to rush that decision. I know from your involvement in the Suspense and Thrillers group that you are interested in mystery, suspense and thrillers. I would encourage you to have a look at the Mystery and Suspense group (link below), has a much more active admininstrator, as well as monthly group reads and author of the week. One of my favourite groups.

Hi Kelly, I've read a few Jack Reacher's but for some reason never read the first one, I think because I tend to buy them as I see them in second hand shops and then read them. Not read one yet I have not loved. Unsurprisingly enjoying it so far and read about half of it in the past 24 hours - hence the tardy response to your post! Will let you know what I think when I finish it.
    Happy reading,
    Andrew

Cool, I can't read while in motion. That is a definite advantage of Kindle! Life of Pi does sound interesting to me. Will give it a go!!!I read Tattoo also and had to get used to the Swedish names. Enjoy this book.Man you are plowing right along! I think I will be with Armadale for a abt a week. It is 700 pages. I do like it tho. I just responded to my cousin on Night Circus, can't wait to see what she says. BUT ever since I posted that I didn't finsih it,several people are coming forward and agree!

How can you read while on a treadmill? I have laughed at doctor's office and mechanics garage and people always stare, which makes me laugh, cause I was reading and not just sitting there laughing...big difference. haha I am moving Life of Pi up my list.My cousin is reading Night Circus now,I had suggested it to her. She wants to know what I think of it. hmmmmmmmmm

Kelly, thank you for the kind words.I feel like a quitter. But with so many books to read why waste time on one I am not enjoying.Just starting Armadale so too soon to tell. Hope to get into it tonight. I will have to move Life of Pi up my list! I don't have a kindle,I am a bricks and mortar person as they say!

I wish I had finished it.I am 1/3 way thru and don't care. I want to read and yet i don't want to read that book. I am just going to finish it to finish it.I keep thinking fo the books i want to read. usually at this point in a book, I give it up,but this one not yet. I don't like it.It feels too drawn out and I don't like the timelines.it is taking me forever to get thru this.I started a week ago. Now that I am writing this to you I think I have decided to be done with it.
My next book will be Armadale by Wilkie Collins or Wuthering Heights by Bronte. Let me know how you like Life of Pi.I have have had that on and off my list.

Well, thanks! You just made my day! I don't like the timeline either. Why is her father dead, but he isn't? (don't answer that) At this point,I look forward to "being done" with it too!I am already looking forward to my next book.I do hope this one "grabs" me again.

Night Circus is losing me. It is ok,but not the "grabber" I thought it would be. I am going to get through it tho. I just feel like it is a cross of Water for Elephants,Twilight and Twilight Zone,Dragon Tatoo (for the contortionist).I feel,so far that the author just took bits and parts from other popular books.I hope it changes my mind.

My grandfather was the same way,saw a few tricks and was hooked. He worked for Howard Thurston! He went out on his own and was quite successful until his death in the 60's.I hear from magicians all the time that knew him or have heard of him.My grandmotehr was the only female magician in Buffalo as of 1932.I can't wait to get home today so I can read! I had to work even thos it is a holiday for me. I will have Thursday off for that. But tonight I plan to cozy up and read!I know what you mean abt your cup of tea,not mine either.

I started Night Circus on Sat.I didn't read much this weekend,I had planned to.I am abt page 60. I plan to read more tonight.I am enjoying it.Not my usual read either. My grandparents were magicians,it intrigues me that way.But they certainly weren't like these people!
I am finding it very creative and imaginative, but I am always trying to figure things out and can't.So I am not relaxing with the read itself. Make sense?

Hi Kelly. I normally wouldn't read a book like Night Circus either.I like it so far. My book shelf took the entire time I have been on shelfari to build! I have been here since Jan 2008. I didn't build it much the first 6 months or so,then started adding more books. Now I am in "maintenance" mode! This week I have cleared a few out,I know I won't read them or changed my mind! Shelfari will increase your "library" and reading,it has opened up new genre and authors for me!
My grt grandparents came from Susquehanna Cty! I ahve family in Pittston.
    Have a Happy New year!!!!
