Yo...just wasting time while I procrastinate. I love this place and I have you to thank for it. You should call me ASAP for more procrastination opportunities. BTW I am freaking out that I am going to be done with school soon. How are things on your end....Chicago. Caitlin Daniel-McCarter moved there after our final on Monday in this class called Wills and Trusts. Wierd. I helped her move on Sunday instead of studying. Anyway, back to the books. I'm reading the Three Musketeers which is totally awesome!
Hey Karenina, what are you up to? did you read the road? I think our next book is The Box Man by Kobo Abe. Want to join us? We are taking turns suggesting the book. The Box Man is my choice. I think PoetGirl is next. Maybe you could suggest a book after her. Any ideas? Books you have always wanted to read but have needed a gentle push? You have time so maybe give it some thought.
Thanks for making me your friend...back at Ya! I love your icon photo! I see you have been in touch with Aidan...hope you join our little group. I'm asking for a new "group name" as we are now offically more than three (we're nowat 5!). I was a little chagrined that "The Road" is now Oprah's book club choice.... its been sitting on my "to be read" list for a while...here I thought I was picking a book nobody was reading....ha!
Glad that you picked up The Road. By the way, Deborah's new group name is Gang of Three. We will probably discuss the book there. So, you are classically trained in Ballet. That is impressive. While I have been known to don a tutu on occasion, I unfortunatly have no training. I just prance about. Maybe throw in the odd jump in for dramatic effect. I am actually a designer. I work in film which is good because I get to read scripts (often taken from books) and bring them to life on the screen. Do you have a favorite ballet?
My friend Deborah has a group called 'just love books' which you might like to join. So far the group is PoetGirl, Deborah, Torontojen and myself. If you want some more Shelfari friends you can contact them. They are a motley crew but I can vouch for them...more or less. I think we will chat about The Road on Deborah's site.
Great that you want to join us in reading The Road. Let us know when you get a copy. I don't know Serov's work but I quite like the portrait. I'll look him up. What syle of dance did you study? Do you still dance?
Chicago is quite an amazing city. I have been there a few times and was amazed at the public art, the archtecture as well as the amazing galleries. Lots of Duchamp and Giacometti there. The music was quite amazing also. You are lucky to live there. If you finish The Weight of wWater and want to start a new book, I am starting The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I am reading it with Deborah and PoetGirl. Do you want to read it with us?We will only be mildy offended if you say no.
Hi Karenina, thanks for the invitation. We have quite a few books in common. I noticed you profile is blank. Where are you from? What are you reading at the moment?
