    I appreciate your presence and encouragement on Shelfari. A year ago you posted a challenge for us to be writing about our faith. I just published my first novel, "The Sign of Jonah" on Amazon, for Kindle. Thanks for the challenge. More to come.

    Karen, is the Kingdom Tale Trilogy still in print? I had read these to my boys when they were wee'uns and saved them to pass down to them. A friend borrowed Tales of the Kingdom and, despite my stressing how special the book was to me, let their children have it and it spent a winter in their back yard and our heavy monsoon rains.

    The world is not as just, not as loving, not as whole as we know it can and should be. But the coming of CHRIST and his presence among us—as one of us—give us reason to live in hope: that light will shatter the darkness, that we can be liberated from our fears and prejudices, that we are never alone or abandoned. God sent JESUS not just to save us, God came down so He could forever be with us *You are a friend of God ~ Merry Christmas*

    The Crucifixion

    Sunlight upon Judea's hills
    And on the waves of Galilee,
    On Jordan's streams and on the rills
    That feed the dead and sleeping sea;
    Most freshly from the green wood springs
    The light breeze on its scented wings;
    And gaily quiver in the sun
    The cedar-tops of Lebanon.

    A few more hours--a change hath come!
    The sky is dark without a cloud;
    The shouts of joy and wrath are dumb,
    And proud knees unto earth are bowed.
    A change is on the hill of death,
    The helmeted watchers pant for breath,
    And turn with wild and maniac eyes
    From the dark scene of sacrifice.

    That Sacrifice!--the death of Him,
    The high and ever Holy One!
    Well may the conscious heaven grow dim
    And blacken the beholding sun!
    The wonted light hath fled away,
    Night settles on the middle day,
    And Earthquake from his caverned bed
    Is waking with a thrill of dread.

    The dead are waking underneath!
    Their prison door is rent away!
    And, ghastly with the seal of death,
    They wander in the eye of day!
    The temple of the Cherubim,
    The House of God is cold and dim;
    A curse is on its trembling walls;
    Its mighty veil asunder falls!

    Well may the caverned depths of Earth
    Be shaken and her mountains nod;
    Well may the sheeted dead come forth
    To gaze upon a suffering God!
    Well may the temple-shrine grow dim,
    And shadows veil the Cherubim,
    When He, the chosen one of heaven,
    A sacrifice for guilt is given!

    And shall the sinful heart alone
    Behold unmoved the atoning hour,
    When Nature trembles on her throne'
    And Death reigns his iron power?
    Oh! shall the heart--whose sinfulness
    Gave keeness to His sore distress,
    And added to His tears of blood
    Refuse its trembling gratitude?

    Hiya, Karen! Haven't opened my Shelfari account in months! FB grabbed me around the neck. Lol. Just thought I'd stop in to check on my Shelfari buddies. ;) Hope you're OK! Our country has been hit by one of the biggest tropical storms in ages. Thank goodness our place is more elevated than the other towns. So our family & house are OK. No damages.

    Dear Karen,
    I just now discovered your friendship request which has been pedning for over three months! I was so surprised to see your note - I never thought to consider the possibility that authors might use Shelfari too:) Your Kingdom Tales Trilogy has been such a blessing to me (although I have only read the first half of the third one) and I re-read the stories frequently. I just finished my freshman year of College and near the end of my first semester my roommate and I began reading the Tales of the Kingdom aloud before bed most nights. She had never read it before, but I knew that she would fall in love with Great Park and the King just like I did. By Christmas time she was leaving encouraging notes in my mailbox and on my desk that ended with "To the King! To the Restoration!" I am thankful that God led you to write these stories that have caused me and many others to love the true King more deeply and to see my life as an integral part of the work that He is doing.
    Many blessings, Wendy
