Sounds good - just checked it out on your shelf - I've added it to my wish list!
Hi there,Haven't chatted yet. How's your summer going so far? Read any good books recently?
that's O.K.
Vampires, Witches & Were’s all that would like to invite you to participate in the ABC contest starting on July 1, 2008.I will post a thread that has the letters of the ABC's list, then start your own thread for example mine would be Sherry's ABC's and list the books that you read with those letters has the first letter in any title of book, it doesn't have to be in the genre either. Each person will be responsible for sending me their points via the group email at vampireswitchesweresallthat@yahoo.com. For every book you read during the time period (until the next letters are posted) you will receive 10 points in the email you must list the title, author, and pages so that if there is tie, we will use page count to break the tie. Everyone is eligible to win, even admin's as a third party will be keeping track of the points for me...so post the books you read...I will post the first letters on July 1.As always happy reading.. Show me the books he loves and I shall know the manfar better than through mortal friends.~ Dawn Adams ~
Just a reminder that Jeaniene Frost will be at Vampires, Witches & Weres all that on June 20th to discuss our monthly book read..we look forward to having you.
Hi, just wanted to let you know that over at VAmpires, Witches, Weres and all that we're having a reading contest and giving away a $10 gift card to the winner! We also have author Jeaniene Frost as our guest for this months book, Halfway to the Grave answering questions and discussing her books. Hope to see you there!(If you've already been there, done that, I apologize, I'm sending to everyone.)
I've only read one book by Stephen King, The Green Mile . . . found it surprisingly realistic and touching. I used to be afraid to read S. King. :) Reading Mudbound by Hillary Jordan; set during World War II about a family that moves to a farm in Mississippi.
Thank you for accepting my invitation. Hope you have a good day! I'm reading Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella . . . it's about a girl that's in a car accident, wakes up with amnesia, can't remember the last three years . . . very enjoyable!
I was reading your comments about books that make you cry . . . doesn't it feel good to be able to feel so deeply? Probably by now you've read At First Sight by NS that you got for your grandmother. I finished that book yesterday . . . spellbound by the ending.
The note I just wrote is a little messed up cause my daughter pushed some buttons that somehow rearranged something. Sorry!
In middle and high school I was a HUGE Kurt Cobain fan! I still love them, but I'm not obsessed anymore. My friend Desirae is still obsessed however and would probably have a heart attack if she knew I 'knew' someone who grew up in Aberdeen and knew his family, etc. I haven't been to Aberdeen but everytime I go to Seattle and pass the exit I think about it. My friend Des also asks me everytime we email eachother if I've been there yet. So yeah, that's pretty cool. She lives in SD and has never been out here. I've lived out here 7 years now. And I love it! Its a lot more exciting then SD where I grew up. CandaceOne thing that is cool about Powells is you can look at the books in the coffee shop and not buy anything. I very rarely ever buy a book when I go.
Katie, I was just looking over your shelves and saw that The Poisonwood Bible is on your favs. Me too! We have quite a few books in common, and I haven't even checked out all your shelves. Have you been to Powells yet? I went last week. I love that store and go every chance I get! I also love Saturday Market. Happy reading:)Candace
Well, I live in Vancouver, right over the bridge from ya. Hope your loving Portland as much as I do!Candace
