“Happiness is not a possession to be prized, it is a quality of thought, a state of mind” Daphne Du Maurier
I am 27 years old and am an avid reader ever since I started putting my letters together to make words. I was fortunate to have a great set of grandparents that bought my first books: the Laura Ingalls Wilder series and fostered my reading ever since. Now since I have to fund my reading habit, I work as a nurse in the operating room which is a great job.
For Fun besides Reading:
I also collect tea cups and coronation china pieces. I have been known to buy vintage beer glasses, I have a few prize ones from England and Germany that I love.
I love listening to all sorts of music but draw the line at rap, country, and Lady Gaga.
I love watching "old" movies and usually have many items on the DVR from TCM.
I've just started to develop an interest in WW2 propaganda posters and am starting to look for items to add to the collection, I love a day spent at antique stores and flea markets. I believe strongly in Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
I love yoga, pilates, and kickboxing: I believe in exercise as a great stress reducer and mood lifter.
I love a good bottle of wine shared with friends.
I like to read books from many different genres, all types of books grace my bookshelves. I tend to enjoy British literature, fiction set in England, Southern literature, travel memoirs, historical fiction/mystery, a good plot driven mystery and an occasional chick lit book.
I love to meet and "talk books" with fellow readers. So please feel free to drop a note and request my friendship. However, I do frown upon friendship invites based on the desire to "plug" your book.
