I am a mommy of two little boys, 6 1/2 and 8. Reading is my sanity! I enjoy sitting in my rocker, a tall glass of ice water at my side and a book in my hand.
I will read most anything but my favorites are series, (I love to follow characters in many situations) and Historical novels. I like when the story is something that I know I could never experience. I want to be whisked away into a world that is not mine. To see things that I can't walk out my front door and see. I have a great imagination and I can see what I am reading as clearly in my mind as if I were standing there myself.
My goal is to have both my boys turn into avid readers, their bookshelf is ready to fall over and we make it a point to get to the library regularly. I believe that the written word is as important as the spoken word. So far they are following nicely in my foot steps. They love books stores and my 8 year old routinely has to be told to go to sleep cause its 2 hours past bedtime and he is still reading!
We used to live in So Cal, now we live in a small town in North Central Indiana. The winters that we get out here give me lots of time for reading!
I would love to chat and be friends with other readers. I used to have a book club in So-Cal but have left them all behind and my hubby isn't into reading! If you have any suggestion please tell me about them!
Other things I love, photography, baking, dogs, watching the seasons change. Hiking with my kids, being in nature, long drives. I have always wanted to be a writer, though I don't really have much talent. I have had poetry published in anthologies from free contests which means that most likely there are only a handful of books that have my name in them. Guess it's better then nothing!
