I did press on to read more yesterday. I'd forgotten that Yatol was going to be the romantic interest. I had to go back and reread what he was like and what he looks like, lol! No! Of course it's not wrong! Sheesh, if YOU didn't find him love-worthy, we certainly wouldn't either :P At least, that's the theory I'm going with!

I'm at the part where he was bowing to her and she's all, "What's up with that?" I think she's in her own tent now. I'm such a slow reader! Plus, I've got library books I have to finish so my reading attention is scattered.

I KNOW! About the middle ages getting such a bad wrap. It totally makes sense to study that period for writing's sake. I LOVE FANTASY!!! That and dystopia are my faves, but probably fantasy wins out over dystopia for me.

It is amazing all the beliefs that surround stuff like sin and redemption and all that. The older I get, the more I question and the more I see things out of the box. I LOVE living outside the box. It takes a little getting used to though, because I'm living in a society that loves the box, hahaha!

What I LOVED about her "All Shall Be Well" stuff is that this is exactly what I experience when I'm in deep meditation or times when all hell is breaking loose around me and I'm standing calmly in the midst of the storm. I just get that feeling, like all is well and this sort of humm that God is here, everywhere, filling everything. More and more often now I get that feeling when I'm out in nature. LOVE IT!!!!!

Oooo, yes! The icon medal was super SUPER cool! I'll give you the link. One of my dearest friends' favorite saint is St. Therese of Lisieux and she bought and gave me one of her icons. Since we were sharing in that way (and not being a Catholic I had no idea what was up with the medals thing) I went searching for a Julian one. So this guy who makes them...he just does it out of the love for Julian. He's his own little company. It doesn't look "perfect" like the traditional Catholic icons do, but that adds to the charm. Plus, he put her cat in it too!!!:

Oh my gosh! I can't find his website anymore D; Aww, I really really wanted to show you. If I find my little paperwork he sent with it, I'll get that info to you. But I have to say, I'm laughing at the stuff I just found on the web. Look at this website...they sell "All Shall Be Well" mugs, BAHAHAHA!!! And they do sell a medal too.

I think I will. I usually don't get the books of authors in our group, but I really like your personality. I can't imagine you, being who you are, writing a bad book. You're just too interesting of a person. So I don't think I'll be let down :) I'm just at the part where the main character (I'm old so my brain never keeps valuable information like character's names, haha) went into her brother's room asking if he knocked on her door. Oh wait...I'm passed that. I'm where she's just been transported into another world I think. I had to put it down right then and go somewhere. Terrible place to put it down, huh? xD

Now I understand! You have a degree in medieval history! It was such a fascinating time, but I don't have to tell you that. I'm sure you understand that a lot more than I do, lol.

Julian was just so amazing! I don't remember when I found her work. I was involved with contemplative christianity and I know I would read certain authors and then look at their footnotes and read the books they referenced. I think that's how I first came across her work. Then I was in seminary for a while and took a course in spirituality. We covered many christian mystics, including Julian. It always amazes me that these women wrote what they did, were often told by their superiors to destroy their works and yet their works remain! MWUHAHAHA!!! One of the things that made my head turn when I read Showings was when she said that sin was good. "Sin oneth man to God" or something like that. I love that! I've got a little icon medal with her image and on back it has the "All Shall Be Well" quote. Love, love, love that!

I'm not sure if either of my fellow admins have approached you, yet, but we're wondering if you'd be interested in being March's(or April's) author interview. You can wait and see how February's interview goes, if you'd like, to get a feel for it. The questions will be the same for the most part. We're thinking about adding a few new ones. One of us will send you the questions. You can take as much time as you want to think about them and fill them out, and then just send them back so that we can post the interview in Readers of YA Fiction.

Let me know what you think! We'd love to pick your brain a bit. :)
