Hi, Chase. Justin M's evil twin here. Wanted to mention that the SHORT stories group will (finally) be reading and discussing the 2007 Best American Short Stories beginning Apr. 1st. We'll start with Auchincloss's "Pa's Darling" and work our way through the collection one month at a time. Hope you can drop by and add any thoughts you might have to the discussion.
    Best,
    Justin II

Hi Chase. I got to your page by reading your review of Amy Hempel. I love her.

Terrific list, Chase. Not that you asked me for recommendations, but if you haven't read any short stories by Aimee Bender or A.M. Homes, I think they might be right up your alley. Like Hempel, but they weigh a bit more heavily on the "odd" scale than she does.

    Hi Chase,
I appreciate your honesty. I was just trying to stack the forum with lefties:) in an evil Machiavellian scheme. My arthritis is kinda bad, and so I've been living online a wee bit much. We're off to Mexico soon, and that will give me the culture shock ass-kickin' I need to rejoin the real world.

    thank you, chase.
murakami might be my favourite author but i must admit that i didn't enjoy his short stories. as the story goes, it's rare that people like both. so you might want to try his short stories instead. i brought this point up on our murakami group site, might help you decide (the list of the books are also there) http://www.shelfari.com/groups/10209/discussions/11005/novels-vs-short-stories kafka on the shore was one of my favourite ones for sure. our group also dealt with our favourite murakami, have a look http://www.shelfari.com/groups/10209/discussions/696/Favorite-Murakami-Novel

Dude, nobody wants to know what you're wearing. That's actually a topic they have at the Vogue office every day: "Do we care, yet, what Dave has on?" "Nope." "GOOD." That's just how it goes. ;o)

If your mom doesn't have that particular sock book, it is--for all intents and purposes--the shizzle. It's the best damn sock book ever written, because it gives you great ideas and lots of freedom to create. If you visit my blog, you can see pictures of my knit projects...cuz I'm cool like that...and by "cool," I mean "dorky."
