I've always liked a good story even before I caught my reading bug. Three or Four years ago I was alone a lot traveling for work. I was exposed to things that I had never given a shot before, new music, new food, all kinds of things. I realized how closed minded I had become over the years. I was in Target wandering around the day the first... more »

    If you plan to continue the In Death series, here's the link to the group devoted to the books. It's a good resource for keeping track of the book list (I maintain it religiously!) and book discussions.

    58 is brilliant. I am at 21 and think I am doing well. I cannot make my mind up if i liked it or not. There was a good level of suspense. Whenever she was doing something I was dreading her being caught. Let me know what you think, especially if you try the next ones. I may be 48, but I sometimes find books for young adults have a better focus on plot and emotion, without the violence or sex. I'm not a prude, but do like a good story :-)

    If you have just read hunger games, are you a sword nd laser follower. And if you have read 71 books this year I am both impressed and a little jealous (that you have the time).

    I'm looking forward to Alice myself. I really enjoyed the Sci-Fi version of Tin Man they did a couple years ago.

    I also enjoyed the action of the early Anita Blake books but felt like the later books lost a lot of the plot and character development I so enjoyed. I actually stopped reading them after awhile although I've been told I should try Skin Trade because it's a lot better than her other recent ones.

    What other authors do you like? I enjoy Rob Thurman, Kim Harrison, Charlaine Harris, Kelley Armstrong and Tanya Huff. And of course, I also enjoy my own books. Sorry I'm just a little excited. My second was just accepted by my publisher last week.

    If you’re looking for that ultimate rush, and you want women that have the ultimate power theses four women in “Cosmic Beginnings” will fire it up:

    For many moons the powerful one has sensed the arrival of a soon to be warrior from across the ocean destined to fulfill the ancient prophecy, while the priestess of the sacred drum releases the spirit of the lion to clear the way for the warrior to call upon her ancestors to help her complete a deadly rites of passage. She must call upon the deities of those ancestors to protect her as she seeks out captain Fatima Jatari to provide her safe passage into the notorious middle passage where the final battle must take place.

    Hi, how is the Looking Glass Wars? And how are you liking Laurel Hamilton? I'm a fan of her early work, but not so much her later novels.

    The Ancient One says

    See it Through

    When you're up against a trouble,
    Meet it squarely, face to face;
    Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
    Plant your feet and take a brace.
    When it's vain to try to dodge it,
    Do the best that you can do;
    You may fail, but you may conquer,
    See it through!
    Black may be the clouds about you
    And your future may seem grim,
    But don't let your nerve desert you;
    Keep yourself in fighting trim.
    If the worst is bound to happen,
    Spite of all that you can do,
    Running from it will not save you,
    See it through!

    Even hope may seem but futile,
    When with troubles you're beset,
    But remember you are facing
    Just what other men have met.
    You may fail, but fall still fighting;
    Don't give up, whate'er you do;
    Eyes front, head high to the finish.
    See it through!
