I am currently 18 and a student in college.
I love to read and to write. My favorite genre is fantasy. I also enjoy sci-fi that leans more toward fantasy. Basically, as long as the sci-fi isn't technical, I'll read it. Like Star Trek, that's technical. I'm also big on romance and a few classic stories. I also love the Fear Street series by RL Stine. And when it comes right down to it, I really love a book with characters that I can connect with and that I can grow to care about.
I write fanfiction mostly, though I am trying to write something original. I never would have discovered my love for writing if it hadn't been for Harry Potter. I just loved the characters and that world and I wanted more of it, so I started writing. It's been really cool watching my writing get better and longer throughout the years. Thanks to Harry, I'm majoring in Creative Writing in College. And if nothing else, I'd really love to get into a publishing firm. Being an editor would be cool, but I'd take any job, really, just to be part of that process.
And I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but it is incredibly HARD putting your top ten books in order. My Reading List is made up of books that I haven't read yet. If I have written an opinion of the book, that means that I started reading it but I don't plan on finishing it. If there isn't an opinion, that means that I haven't read it, but I do plan on doing so. My Wish List is comprised of books that I would like to get my hands on. If there's an opinion of the book, that means that I've read it and I would like to own it. If there isn't an opinion, that means that I haven't read it and I would like to get a copy so that I can read it. My Shelf is only comprised of books that I've read, regardless of whether or not I own them.
My rating system:
5 stars--one of my favorite books, a must read
4 stars--great book, though not my favorite
3 stars--good book, I liked it
2 stars--an okay book, I can't say that I didn't like it but I can't say that it was good either
1 star--did not like this book at all
