“The way this author was able to craft a tale that both broke my heart and renewed my spirit is nothing short of amazing. The language of this novel as Price-Thompson takes us from the red-clay of Alabama to the Motherland in Kenya is so riveting... The prose is beautiful and rugged at the same time. This is a novel that should be taught in college Literature classrooms across the country. It deals with so many issues from prostitution to female genital mutilation. I know I plan to teach it in my Women's Studies courses and it will always be one of my favorites. Well done, Ms. Price-Thompson, well done!”

“Amazing! This novel is absolutely amazing! The characterization is so crisp and the plot is so engaging I could not put it down. I love the way GiGi Gunn drew me into the world of this character-driven novel. The characters are all unique and have quirks and flaws that make them real. The side characters add depth and flesh out the story nicely. This author has written a truly captivating enduring love story. I loved the fact that Aiden had loved Sassy from afar from the first moment he saw her. And the speech that he gives her at the end when he proclaims his love...my goodness my heart just exploded and tears came to my eyes as I read it. This novel is a must read for folks looking for a great love story. I can't wait to read more from this very talented author.”

“I loved this book! It had me laughing out loud so much my husband kept giving me the side-eye. All I can say is this was a stunning debut novel. Lori Johnson certainly has a knack for really getting into the character's POV and honing the voice so perfectly they leap off the pages. I swear as I read the novel it felt like I was one of Faye's friends and she was giving me the dish... And I felt like I was eavesdropping on Carl talking to one of his boys. This novel takes she said, he said to the next level and leaves the reader with an awesome tale about a fun-filled journey to love. If you want a novel that is going to make you laugh, make you smile and give you a good dose of drama, this is the novel for you. And can I just say for all the women who have ever had a fool like Scoobie in their lives, this books is darn near cathartic! LOL. Read this book. You won't regret it!”

“This was an amazing tale of forgiveness and personal growth. From the first page, Shay jumped of the page at me and the prose refused to let me go. I laughed out loud, felt extreme sadness, and had moments of deep thought and contemplation as I read this novel. The relationship between black mothers and daughters is such fertile ground for amazing story-telling and Brice has given us a winner with Orange Mint and Honey. The characterization is crisp. The voice is powerful. And this novel is a must read. I plan to read it again and again. It's a keeper.”

“Renny. Renny. Renny. Oh to have a man like Renny... AC Arthur outdid herself with this one. I loved this hero. I enjoyed this book. The romance was passion-filled and the love scenes were off the charts HOT! This is a must read.”

“The imagery and artistic feel of this novel is matched by the desire and passion. And they all work together to paint a vision so breathtaking, so emotion-filled, so damn good you just become enthralled in the story telling. Leslie Esdaile has an amazing gift. Parts of this novel had me moved to tears, other parts fanning myself, and grinning to myself as I watched Jason and Deborah fall in love. This book is just amazingly executed. Everything came together to paint this vivid picture of a love so real it made me wish the book didn't have to end.”
