I am most interested in the mind-brain debate, as well as the affects of the brain on emotions (including religious) and cognitions. Oh yeah, and I love a good story!

Dear Mindscrapper: Reading your profile, I thought you might be interested in meeting a young woman named Molly O'Dwyer. Molly is the main character in my new novel HUNTING THE KING. When she was 5 years old, Molly witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother's death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Now an archaeologist, Molly is recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. Her mother had been a counter culture radical, the youngest tenured professor at her school. Molly has inherited her mother's genes. She is compelled to know what or who is buried beneat hthe sands of ancient Babylon. But she is also an observant Catholic who is scraed that what she discovers could destroy her faith. There is an awesome book trailer on YouTube well worth watching if you have the time. Let me know what you think. Thanks. peter

    Hiya back at ya! :-)
Check out my recommendations I just added to the Consciousness Studies group. If you're in a hurry get a copy of Philosophy: the basics by Nigel Warburton. You can find it here:

I just added a review. Always in a hurry so there are probably lots of typos...
    Good luck with entering philosophy!

    Hi Shelfarian friend!
I haven't been around Shelfari for a while but I hope to get started on the consciousness studies group in a bit.
If you are interested in consciousness, emotions and the mind-brain debate (whatever that is:) I might be able to give you some tips. Maybe you have something to share as well.
That's it for now. See you around... in a virtual kind of way.
