My Sista Funlayo, are you 9JA? Funlayo is Yoruba and you have an Orisa book on your shelf. I know we Yorubas are very diverse, but I have never met a vegan Yoruba woman that collects Elephants, neither has my mama! I asked her. Lol
TUTUOBA, my novel is a story of a Sistah that had to find and save her soul on the path of Orisas from Yorubaland through the Caribbean to the U.S East Coast. You will surely feel and bond with the character.

I'm so uplifted right now. Through my vigorous campaigning....a scholarship has been named in honor of the memory of my sister-in-law to whom my novel, A WOMAN SCORN'D is dedicated and is available for applicants up until Feb, 28, 2008. If you know of anyone who can benefit please have them go to www.thetonyablountshow.com. Tonya put up the funds to start this scholarship and I am so gracious to her for her efforts.

I loved visiting Robert D. Bassett's Art Gallery in Hamilton.
There was also this really small restaurant not far where I would go and eat and watch cricket. Wow, great memories. I hope to visit again soon. Have you read any books by Bermudans?

    Hi Funlayo7,
Speaking of Bermuda, s that Black bookstore still there. I've been there twice, and both times I loved going to visit the bookstore. It was within walking distance of where the ships are. Take care, and look forward to chatting with you!

    Hi Funlayo,

I totally agree with you about elephants not getting the credit that they are due. They are so majestic and beautiful animals. I feel that giraffes have not been given proper credit as well. They are such tall and regal animals in the wild.

I think that is is so wonderful that you work with youth. I am a teacher and yourh development worker by trade, so I am a strong advocate for Rites of Passage programs. Keep up the good work!!

    Cheers,
    Lioness
