Inveterate reader, word maven, Bas Bleu, I've been reading voraciously all my life. And, much to the dismay of my family, can hardly bear to part with a book, ever! I like them near enough to touch, to whisk off the shelf when I need to remember a particular sentence or paragraph.

Hi Angela, The Lost Scriptures: Books... appears to be a most interesting book. Pleased to find out that about this book. Have wondered if we have been missing out on teachings that we should have. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for accepting me as a friend. I noticed you have some of the same titles as I do on your shelf. I needed someone who has a great many nonfiction titles to ask this question of: How do you shelf your books in your library at home. The fiction is easy for me - I don't have that many, so it's not an issue. But, I have loads of nonfiction and outside of checking Amazon or library catalogues, I don't know how to determine what catagories to put the ones, which don't have a catagory on the cover or on the lead page, in. Do you have some suggestions or ideas?
    Thanks amd blessings,
    Mona

Thanks Angela. I can see that this site will save me from mindless wandering (Though that's fun too!) through the bookstore. It's fun to meet others that share a love for reading.

What huge list you have! you probably didn't watch much tv, still we have some similar reads. I have trouble finding books that move me. Do you have any suggestions? I like satire, relationships, and courage. Two authors you might want to look into are James Salter and Julian Barnes. Joe Heller said that he loved Barnes and recommended Flaubert's Parrot. Salter wrote A Sport and a Pastime.

    Morning,
I see you have the book In Defense of Food. What did you think? I usually read a lot of health and nutrition books. Should I just pick it up at the library?
    Reading anything wonderful?

Would they ask you to give away your friends? I've just begun Donna Leon's
Venice series... have you read Jan van der Wettering? Lovely crime mysteries in Amsterdam.

Thank you so very much for reminding me about Ayaan Hirsi Ali' book. I had been intending to read it since seeing her on 60 MINUTES. What a daring lady. I'm sure the book is great especially from the critiques and synopsis. Gotta check it out. Thanks again for the reminder. thejamespoe@yahoo.com
