Some of the novels that I think everyone should read are The Stand by Stephen King (so much more than a horror story), To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Lord of the Rings by Tolkein, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz-Zafon, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the Complete Works of Jane Austen, Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, The Vampire Chronicles (the first 3 books) by Anne Rice, and Valley of the Dolls (imho the best pop culture book ever written) by Jaqueline Susann. Those should keep you busy for awhile. :) I would be happy to recommend more, also. :)

I may have to make that my next read then. Glad to hear you're enjoying novels! There's nothing like the escapism of a novel to help you unwind at the end of the work day. :) I can recommend some great ones if you'd ever be interested. :)

Right now I'm reading AT WORLD'S END by Ken Follett. It's his sequal to PILLARS OF THE EARTH which came out over 20 yrs ago. It's taken him a long time to write this sequal, but it's just as good as PILLARS. I recommend them both. Both very long, with MANY MANY characters. Great reads, though. Before this book, I'd just finished THE GLASS CASTLE by Jeannette Walls.
