I have not been able to get through Fledgling. It's so upsetting. I'm not into the vamire thing so much. I would suggest Kindred first. Now, that was awesome. And a large portion of the book takes place on a plantation so you really might enjoy it.

Hi Eugenia. I haven't seen the movie version of The Human Stain, but love the book so far. I love Roth's humor and sarcasm, and the characters are just pitiful. lol. I must admit, my ADHD has led me to an intermission. I'm now reading The Kite Runner (the movie made my cry myself into a headache and I LOVED A Thousand Splendid Suns), Lost Hearts in Italy (I'm struggling to get through this book, and have vowed to finish what I start) and Gotham Writers' Workshop Writing Fiction: The Practical Guide.

    Hi Eugenia,
    LOL!
Fanon was a challenge to a bunch of us 16 year olds (back in 1968). 'Word Wealth' didn't help us with the words Frantz was droppin'!
