Hi Eugenia. I just finished Dido's Prize this morning - couldn't put it down and had to sneak out my Nook at work so I could learn about the fate of Dido and El Negro ;-) I'm typically not one to go for Period Fiction, but I found your novel to be a wonderful and engaging story that successfully wove various components of the 17th Century/Early Colonial experience into an action-packed, suspenseful treat. What an admirable heroine you've created! Congrats on a job well done...and thank you for sharing.

I have not been able to get through Fledgling. It's so upsetting. I'm not into the vamire thing so much. I would suggest Kindred first. Now, that was awesome. And a large portion of the book takes place on a plantation so you really might enjoy it.
