Since I was about twelve years old, I have been an insatiable reader. Sadly, however, I am a very slow reader. Consequently I have way more books than I will ever be able to read in my lifetime. Besides the books I have listed on my shelf, I have many more in ebook format that I read on my Palm LifeDrive, and more still in audio format. Did I mention the multiple stacks of library books? Pray for me.
My shelf contains the books that I actually own or have read. I have not read them all as yet. Remember, I'm slow. My reading shelf is for those that I am actually reading, or listening to, at this moment, or those that I have read half way through and then put them aside for a while. My wish list is for those that I hope somehow find their way onto my shelf. I wish there was another shelf for the books that I have read but don't have in my possession, or don't belong to me. This would include the many library books I have read, the many books that I have read and then sold or swapped or given to someone or, and I know this has never happened to any of you, loaned to someone and never saw them again. I once had a 1st edition copy of Panther in the Sky by James Alexander Thom which I loaned to a 'good friend' who was leaving on a fishing trip where he proceeded to drop it from a boat into a lake. He thought it was hilarious but he never replaced it.
I own somewhere between 1000 and 2000 more books, most of which I have actually read, but they are not in the same room as my computer, so they have not made it onto Shelfari as yet.
I was an art major in college, many moons ago, and occasionally produce a new painting.
