Hi Dana , as you can see, I am an avid Andre Norton fan. I remember reading her books in high school, and, after becoming disabled, took up reading once again. There is no dating of her books- they are just as imaginative today as back then. She uses no profanity or graphic violence, her characters are truly real to the reader, invoking feelings of companionship. It's like you are there with them. As to some of my other choices, I love "Blogs-To-Books", as I call them. Nice, light reading...
    Blessings, Denise

You know, we have a lot in common. I used to be an extra/background actor. I worked in Vancouver and was on 2 popular TV shows -- The Commish and The Heights. :-) My favorite job was an episode of The Commish which aired around Halloween. I sat beside one of the actors in a small set. Apparently I was a teacher...or maybe the actor's wife. I don't know. lol

My inlaws live in Yuma for 6 months of the year, then head to Ontario for the other half. My mother-in-law has sold more copies of my books to her friends in Yuma--probably to half the town. She gathers up the RV park people whenever I'm on TV (news interviews) and they watch me via satellite. haha

You ain't kidding it's the million dollar question! Cannot hurt to ask I guess. I definitely think authors sticking together for/at functions is great, especially since I'm unknown too. I aim to hit up the independent book stores too, when I have copies to distribute. Gift shops are a good idea. It's always a lot of finagling.
Getting into stores is interesting. Synergebooks does offer our ebooks in a good range of venues, and if you search the net and find another vendor, Deb's good about checking it out. Libraries are good to hit up, lots of them carry ebooks but they buy from larger distributors, just like print vendors. It's getting into the larger vendors that requires the luck and connections we crave. Or persistence. At this point in the game it seems all I have to offer any more is the same old advice. The time and the money for marketing is what gets me. Expensive and time consuming...but hopefully worth it!
If I have any luck with things when my books come out I'll let you know!

And thank you for the invite. I wish you all the best of luck too! Have any advice for someone like me with my books going into print soon? ie, how to get noticed?

That's great, Dana. I've been living in Auckland the past 17 years, but I'm originally from Hastings, down in the Hawke's Bay. Lived a few months in Rotorua though. Drove down to see the LOTR exhibition when it was on at Te Papa, our national museum in Wellington. Biased I might be, but Peter Jackson is one of the greatest living Kiwis!

I was under the impression that "Bitten" comes before "Dime Store Magic" as far as chronological order goes... Is that not true? Or is it really more beneficial to skip ahead before looping back? I don't necessarily mind reading out of order, as long as it doesn't give away information from past books....
