CopperGoddess

CopperGoddess

I'm a casino dealer, have been one for over 10 years now. I love to read, as seen by my bookshelf, paranormals. If it has vampires, werewolves, zombies, spirits, etc., then I'm more than likely reading it. Glad to have found Shelfari and all the people I have met so far.

Vampires, Witches & Were’s all that
would like to invite you to participate in the ABC contest starting on July 1, 2008.
I will post a thread that has the letters of the ABC's list, then start your own thread for example mine would be Sherry's ABC's and list the books that you read with those letters has the first letter in any title of book, it doesn't have to be in the genre either. Each person will be responsible for sending me their points via the group email at vampireswitchesweresallthat@yahoo.com. For every book you read during the time period (until the next letters are posted) you will receive 10 points in the email you must list the title, author, and pages so that if there is tie, we will use page count to break the tie. Everyone is eligible to win, even admin's as a third party will be keeping track of the points for me...so post the books you read...I will post the first letters on July 1.

    As always happy reading..
Show me the books he loves and I shall know the man
far better than through mortal friends.

    Hi CopperGoddess,
You've got so many tempting books here. I'll have to pick one off your shelf to read. I'm sure my hubby would appreciate the more sensual ones, too :)
How in the world have you registered over 1000? You are a busy woman and a fast reader, I take it.
    Take care.

Just a reminder that our book for June in Vampire's Witches and Were's is Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. Ms. Frost has agreed to visit our group for the day (AWESOME!) to talk to us about her book! While we read, lets take notes so we'll be ready for our one on one with this popular author! As a group we have to vote on when the best time would be for her to spend the day with us. Please vote and make Jeaniene Frost feel welcome! Thanks!! ~.^

in passing... noticed you like "otherwordly" readings. If you like urban fantasy (faeries, elves, and such, ordinatory people with otherwordly powers, etc.) you should pick up two Canadian authors - Charles deLint - for light & dark side of urban fantasy - and Guy Gavriel Kay - for more "new world" and gipsy style fantasy...
Some of deLint's novels fall under "young adult" but I enjoy them all :)
    Happy reading!

Hey there. Thanks for replying to my question. Problem is, I'm not sure which question you were replying to. :) I just know that you said it's more urban fantasy than romance. Which is fine by me, I read more than just romance. :)

yeah, but trade paperbacks don't fit in my pocket or my bookshelves, so even if they were cheaper I wouldn't want them. It is particularly aggravating when they start a series in Mass Market and then put the second or third book in a different format. aaargh! I am a bit OCD and I like all my books to be the same shape and size as much as possible, because space on my bookshelves is at a premium!

I had the same thing happen with the last 2 Karen Moning books Darkfever and Bloodfever. I enjoyed her other books, but these left me with feeling of unfinished business, and no conclusions. I'll wait until the sequel comes out and see what the reviews are on that before getting both. Thanks.
BTW how was Howling at the Moon? I did not see any reviews for it.
