A kindle is what my mister gave me for Christmas, despite my early-in-the-year protestations. After downloading a slew of free classics and some other books I've been meaning to read for ages, I am very glad he did not listen to me. Don't get me wrong, I still love to turn pages, but with this it goes so much faster... and the font size can be adjusted (as you pointed out somewhere), which is grand on days when my eyes are just not up to par. You in love with your wee-machine?

And the same to you, Fi Fi. Here's to lots of good reading ahead. I'm enjoyng Villette very much, but there's a lot of Frenchified talk, blast it. Luckily, my edition has a translation.

Ah, yes, heavenly B&N. My mother-in-law complained last summer that all my teenager wanted to do was to be dropped off at the Tampa B&N for three hours with five bucks for coffee. I just grinned. That's MY genetic material.

Fee ducky, I was in a two-story used bookstore yesterday (with an elevator and 15 sections). After scouring the place for St. Peter and the angelic hosts, I located the Bulgakov you recommended, Master & Margarita. I'm so happy! Thanks so much for the recommendation! January in Siberia will be a real test of my powers of endurance, and Bulgakov should help me get through it.
