I love to read and joined a book discussion group 4 years ago. This opened my world to books that I would have never read on my own. The discussion group is comprised of an interesting range of people, men and women, a variety of racial, ethnic, and religious persuasions, and a wide range of age from early 30s to late 70s. Since we each bring in ideas for books to be read by the group, there is a nice spin on the selections we read.
I also like to knit and crochet. I have knit a lot over the past year and I think I enjoy knitting more than crocheting. I find that a lot of crochet patterns can be confusing to read. I enjoy the actual art of crocheting but hate crochet patterns.
I work in a special ed class with autistic children at a local middle school and really enjoying working with the children. I'm also the licensing manager for a program called Kids' MusicRound. It is a program for caregiver and baby/child that involves music, singing, movement, chants, rhymes, social interaction, and most importantly fun. It is a program that I believe in very strongly. In fact, I took these classes with my son when he was a toddler. I guess I can be one of those spokespeople that say I not only work for KMR, I'm also a client.
I'm looking forward to hearing about other books that people have read and possibly discussion groups on books. Something new that I can add to this profile. I went back to school for surgical technology and graduated top in my class. Then completed 500 hours of externship in a hospital operating room. Now I need to find employment in an OR to keep up the fantastic skills that I have learned and perfected.
