I loved it!! I read it in two days. I can't wait to read some more of her work. Thanks for the heads up too, I will read them in order. I saw they use characters from the first as main characters in later books so that would make more sense.

It was a smart story, not at all cheesy, it was suspenseful and all came together quite well. I definitely, erm , enjoyed the steamy parts too! heehee
Thanks again for the recommendation though, Sparks is definitely becoming one of my favorites!!
I've been kind of in the mood to read about witches and things (being Halloween season and all), any recommendations for that?

    HI Chrissa,

I just wanted to let you know I started "How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire". I really like it a lot! :) I also got "Eat Prey Love", (love the title, also bought Eat PrAy Love...lol) that will be next. It doesn't seem like the 'Love at Stake' series follow any sequence. They seem to be different characters as well. Am I right?
Thanks so much for the recommendation. I was really in need of a new author.
You really need to give Christopher Moore's Love Story trilogy a whirl. I think you'll enjoy it! :)
    Have a great day!

Hi Chrissa, nice to meet you as well and thank you for the friend request! :)

Thank you for all the great recommendations. =] I'm going to do a little research here today (at work... lol) on all the different series' you mentioned. I was seriously in a major book rut and in dire need of some fresh blood... ;)
I agree, the spicier the better. Throw in some paranormal lore, romance, a bit 'o mystery and magic... voila, a page turner.

I really love the Sookie books. I was engulfed in them for a while. Then I went to other things. I got book eight and it just started to slow down a bit for me. True Blood just took it's own spin on it, and, in my opinion, it became better than the books (and I usually feel the opposite). Do you watch the show?
I started Charlaine Harris' Harper Connolly 'Grave' series, it's still slow going. :/

I am really interested to read more about Kerrelyn Sparks, I've never heard of her and your enthusiasm about her work is enough for me to be curious. I am def going to run to B&N today after work and pick up some new reads (not that I need any, I'm a major book hoarder).

I like all genres, but paranormal / fantasy is definitely my favorite. I feel the same, I enjoy breaking from reality and taking my mind to places and situations that could only be imagined.
Every once in a while, I do like autobiographies / memoirs. I've read a lot of great ones, some crappy ones as well. I particularly love memoirs about people who come from nothing or really effed up circumstances and flourish in their own lives. It's inspiring.

Christopher Moore is now one of my all time favorite authors. He writes about a lot of things... not just vampires. He is hysterical!!! Lamb, is one of my favorite books of all time. I definitely recommend checking him out. Start with Bloodsucking Fiends and see if you like his writing style / humor. If you like it there are two more in that particular series. You mentioned visualization and imagery, he definitely knows how to create that. You feel like you're watching a movie. I hope you like him!!

OK, well, I'm going to get back to work (boo!) but thanks again for the friend request and all the great recommendations. I look forward to talking books (and all things paranormal...) with you! Ttyl. Have a great day!! ~L

I just finished Burned from the HoN series also. I saw your review. I felt the same way. Each installment was better than the next. 'Burned' was no exception. I loved it!!

I peeked at your shelf, you have a lot I think I would be interested in. What do you recommend? I feel like I've kind of fallen into a YA book trap... not to say I don't like YA. I just think I might like something supernatural that doesn't take place in High School. Lol. :)

I just started Christopher Moore's "You Suck" which is his follow up to "Bloodsucking Fiends", so far it's even funnier than the first. I also changed gears with Charlaine Harris, I've read 8 of her Sookie Stackhouse Vamp Mysteries, now I'm trying out the "Grave" series. I'm having a hard time getting into it, but hopefully it will pick up. I've heard it was great.

Other than that, I started "The Stand" back in like April, I'm only half way through (its about 1200 pages) I love it, but was getting too impatient so I moved on. Hopefully I'll get back into it.

    Have a great day! ~Laura
