Hi Cassy! I'm reading a lot - and polishing up my Italian! I see you are reading a lot of Young Adult Fiction - have you or your son ever run into books by Richard Peck? (He was my teacher in High School and mined the experience to become a best-selling author!) Also, can you see my reviews? and how can I see yours? When I hover the mouse over a book in the bookshelf, I see a pop-up but it's not the full review, only the first part, then I don't know how to access it. THANKS!

    Hi Cassy,
Finally got around to reading Metropolis. I loved the time period and setting, New York City and Brooklyn in the late 1800s. It was very good. Passed onto Elaine and Alan. Thanks!

Wow, Cassy, you've been doing a lot of summer reading! Alan and I just got back from Myrtle Beach....and tomorrow...school! We'll have to plan a Fall Book Club meeting as soon as we're able to free up some time. Hope to see you soon.

Hi:) Our e-mail is still not working ... I'm waiting for Alan to find out what's wrong.
I can't believe we're having such a hot summer. I've been doing a lot of swimming and everytime I read a few pages of a book, I fall asleep. Oh...I just noticed, I can send you a private message on Shelfari!

I think I don't like Shelfari because I spent time in a reading group and I'm in National Writing Project, both face-to-face, really interactive. I am reading Infinite Jest, troubling but oh so masterful.. I think I may not be able to discuss it, tho I read little excerpts to my hubby a couple times a week.

I liked "Leaving India" and I think you would too. I found it very informative and learned a lot about the culture. I took the book out of the library. Lately, I've been borrowing books on CD's and listening to them on my way to work.

Hi: Hope you've enjoyed your "week of summer". We just came back from Myrtle Beach and had a great time. I finished reading about the "The Garcia Girls". Have you read her book "Yo!"?

Hi Cassy: I just noticed that you haven 't been on Shelfari in a long time. How are your students this year?

I'm reading "The Women" a novel about Frank Lloyd Wright and also (at the same time) his biography. We visited "Falling Waters" which is located outside of Pittsburgh.
    What have you been reading?

"A Golden Age" looks good. I put it on my ever-growing list. I'll have to live to 100 just to read half of them. Glad to hear that you're enjoying summer with B.

Oh, I am always reading more than one book at a time, usually 4-5 books actually. Right now I am reading Beloved by Toni Morrison, Matrimony by Joshua Henkin, Coffee with the Buddha by Joan Oliver Duncan, and Memoirs of Jane Austen by her nephew. I am reading that last one on Daily Lit. Have you ever used them before? I got some books from your shelf to put on my TBR list. My gosh I need a 12-step program.
