The sterile, impersonal nature of such interchange only tells me that whatever it was that had to be said could not have been that important, after all, I was one of many. Perhaps, someone else will care…
I love bookstores. I love second-hand bookstores even more. I get a sick thrill from finding old or rare books that are out of circulation. My newest obsession is collecting old encyclopedias. Reading about ideas and idioms from another era holds great interest to me. It is a very rare thing for me to lend out books from my shelf to anyone. Most people forget to return them, and since I never forget who I lend a book to this can create a bit of tension.
I love Shelfari, but I’m not an exemplary member. I will not answer the “Should I read” questions. I’m not 100% complete on my membership -not going to happen. If you request my friendship, I want to know why, and if you are not here to talk about reading or books, don’t bother.
