Hi,Sorry the delay in responding to your post concerning the book, The Hand I Fan With. I enjoyed reading the book so much. It should make a great screenplay. I personally know the author and feel that her writing deal with such a broad spectrum of themes that is familiar with African Americans. If only I could wish up a wonderful man. Let me know how things turn out. AvaDo you think the novel "The Hand I Fan With" would make a great screenplay and why? I'm speaking with the person who bought the movie option. So, I wanted several readers intake on their thoughts about the novel.

Marie Antionette would like to share an excerpt from her book titled A Girl Named Job with you and all of her Shelfair friends...This is from Chapter 3, Wheres My Daddy...It took a few seconds for the reality of things to really hit me but once it did I broke down and cried like a wounded dog.I didn’t cry because we’d just gotten robbed. I cried because I though Nana was gonna “whop” my a**! Surely she wasn’t going to believe me, she never does! I knew she was going to put the blame on me. I was the only one in the house and I didn’t do anything to stop him. I could hear her now, "Why didn’t you go run and tell somebody you run ya’ mouth any other time?” “Why didn’t you pick up the phone and call somebody-the police?” My thoughts had me so afraid, that by now the house is filled with my weeps. It was hard for me to hear anything over the sound of my shed tears. I though the ordeal was over, I though Gilly was gone. But as I lift my head an opened my eyes, he was standing right there staring at me like my reflection in the mirror. That F***** Me Up! It felt like witches riding my back. I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t yell, I couldn’t blink, I couldn’t do shit! All I could do was sit and stare. I didn’t make one move, but when the nigga’ touched me, WOAH Nelly! Talk about fade to Black! I was gone, I’d completely zoned out. I had no idea what his intentions were and at the same time it felt like my spirit had vacated my body. Gilly didn’t have his hands on me he had his hands on an empty shell. He was saying some thing to me but I couldn’t hear him. His touch numbed my body. I don’t know how long he was in the room with me. I was just relieved as hell when he left. I started crying again...

I am so sorry to be sending this to you now, but I haven't been on until just this week, and with me off both jobs until Monday, I can sit and chill a bit. I think the book would make a great movie; I think of the Ghost and Mrs Muir with an African American twist. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to seeing it on the big screen if it does. Hope that helps and again, excuse the delay.
