Miss Ann Thropic

I read anything. I go off on reading tangents.
Some people surf the internet, I surf the library.
Quietly.
I was, after all, a librarian.
As a child, I built walls, houses, caves, and roads out of my books.
As an adult, I still do this.
Metaphorically.
I prefer that my Shelfari friends have books on their shelves....more »

Perhaps to harsh on TC. Might not have been my best week. Funny how your mood can taint a book. Thank God it works the other way to, in fact that is the magic of books for me. As for your unitarian prayers, I'm standing right behind you. The closest I have to mantra is the following:

The real choice is not “creation or evolution”, at all, but, “purpose or accident”. I passionately believe in a universe with purpose, through I cannot prove it. Purpose like origin, is a point where the wisdom of empirical science ends and the quest for religious faith begins.

Girl i am envious ........ you can get so many books, read them fast and put them on........... Me i have not yet completed my Sunday newspaper and today is thursday........Am I jealous!
Now you have changed your profile a little and mentioned your husband also. I know he is lucky one. When I am reading my wife always scolds me. hehehe.
Though I have put her in reading habit too and bring to her many books, periodicals etc. but when she is near it is hard to read, unless she is reading too.
please keep writing me I miss your tweezerz.

Helping to skinny your "To Read" list

Listen to "I'am America" as an audio book. And treat it like a bathroom book. Full barrel quick draw comedy can only be taken in 5 and 10 min. intervals.

Scrap Tortilla Curtain... a great title, but this gringo knows little of the plight of Mexicans and sadly that is evident to anyone who reads his book and reads the newspaper.

"Night" .... this must be a re-read for you. If not, move it to the top of your stack. Wait for a huge summer storm. Pop a cork and take the clock from the wall you are in for a hell of a ride.

I pray you remain happy and wed to the last day of your life Laura
Now that is very interesting provincial law you have. Laws are for abiding you did right. I agree with you. Fortunately I have a degree of law myself.
All that I said was joke and that advice bit is just a catalyst to people marrying;- not against them. Anyway if law says so thats okay with me...... I cannot stop anyone from falling in a hole.
So you live in British Columbia. which city? The most populated city is Vancouver. Are you in this city.
May be some day I come to Canada, then i'd like to meet you in person
    With best wishes and regards

    THANKS ANN,
    NICE QUOTE.
BUT I THINK TRULY THAT YOU ARE IN A UNIQUE POSITON.
YOU CAN ASK BOTH BRIDE AND THE GROOM SEPARATELY BEFORE PROCEEDING THAT THEY SHOULD RECONSIDER THE DECISION.
IF THEY AGREE TO GO AHEAD YOU CAN GUIDE THEM TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE.
AS FAR AS I SEE THE ONE THING THAT SURPASSES ALL THE PRESENT AND FUTUREE PROBLEMS IS 'TOLERANCE'. ONE SHOULD ADJUST ONESELF TO OTHER PERSON'S PRANKS. YOU AGREE?
WE SHALL DISCUSS THIS MATTER MORE IN FUTURE.
TELL ME WHETHER YOU ARE MARRIED OR NOT?
HOW MANY FAMILY MEMBERS YOU HAVE. ARE YOUR PARENTS ALIVE AND WHERE ARE THEY?
    PLEASE KEEP POSTING.
    PARTICULARLY QUOTES
    REGARDS TO A NICE PERSON

I started a group called Read-a-Likes, and I'm trying to get some active readers involved in the group to help create lists of, well, read-a-likes. The group is small as I just started it the other day and only have a few posts, but I'd really like to get some more active members that can help create these lists. I think that it would come in handy for other members that are looking for some helpful readers advisory. Check out the group if you're interested: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/26266/about (i think that might work, haha). Again, the group's name is Read-a-likes.

    Thanks

    K.

    Ha Ha Ha Anthropic,
    What a +ive approach
    U r right
Normally u find both happy on this day
at least they show off that they are happy
    Consequences one cannot say
U know what Socrates advised to Plato
He said to Plato: Quote "You should get married; if you got a good wife you will always be happy and if you did not get a good wife, you will become a philosopher." unquote
And you are lucky ma'm to see them happy at least once.
What a job; I envy you.
    Enjoy while you can
    or ecome a philosopher!

    Hi Laura,

I won't complain. So many folks have far more worse going on in their lives. Sometimes, I'm a little depressed, but I try not to linger in that space. Congratulations on your new job. Would love to hear story of the happy nuptials you will witness. Peace. ~L
