Dude, when they cut out your spleen, you go: "Please! Oh, God, please, not my spleen!" At least, that's what the others scream when they get out the rusty razor blade used for spleen removal...

Dude, if I tell you what goes on in the super-secret Insiders group, they'll cut out my spleen and feed it to me before I die.

I just resent the message to your g-mail. Apparently, whatever I wrote was never saved or sent, but I think this one went through.

Well, just be glad we're not dating! It's tough trying to lead a real life and a virtual one at the same time. And then there's all that reading to fit in...

Jude, It certainly makes it seem like a small world (talking w/ Ali & Navid). Foreign policy pisses me off to no end, but that must be why it is called foreign--foreign to logic, foreign to peace, foreign to the greater public. To answer your question, yes, I'm paid to be a graphic designer (these days, data & info graphics). Hope you're having a good weekend, Marc

Jude, I dug the Jihad Bloopers and the IM posts on your blog! I had originally hoped my blog might receive a lot of submissions from people in my neighborhood to kind of showcase writers, musicians, artists, etc. I think I've gotten 2 submissions, so it's mostly event announcements and my various amateur projects (or those of my son or wife). I've seen Get Shorty and Jackie Brown and had no idea they were based on Leonard novels (I never cease to be amazed by my own ignorance sometimes). I appreciate the recs--like you, I'm often disappointed in the books others recommend, but I can tell from your shelf, you've probably got me pegged pretty well. Only on the Internet would we be able to have dialogue across both the seas and the regimes--I think it's great! I enjoy seeing the Bloom multi-media empire growing by the day. -Marc

Bloom, Just wanted to say I continue to enjoy your posts over at fiction effect. I just picked up a copy of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles yesterday and I'm almost embarassed to say I've never read Elmore Leonard. There are gaps in my reading that you could drive Victor Hugo's entire collection of works right through. Anyhow, crunched at work and thought it easier to drop a note than respond in the discussion threads. I'll have to check out your blog (I just noticed it!). -Marc

You are going to need to have a copy of my mentor Sandra Scofield's Scene Book for our scintillating discussions of our masterpieces. I think your wife bought a copy. Does she let you borrow her books?

    Friend,
After saying not to imitate in writing, I've decided I'm going to write just like Bobbi Ann Mason. In a few weeks, expect a story written just like Bobbi Ann Mason.
