more »I love to read, I have been reading since I was a little girl. my mom tells me that she would hear me reading Dr. Seuss books. I didn't know how to read yet but from hearing them read to me and looking at the pictures, I was reading them. I remember begging my mom to buy me Nancy Drew books when I was a Brownie. I was reading adult fiction by the time I was in seventh grade. I had a bookcase in my room and I cataloged all my books and lent them to my friends and stamped them with due dates. Maybe iI should have grown up to be a librarian instead of a controller and tax preparer...lol.
Well I have been reading forever, I have over 600 unread books in my back bedroom that I turned into a library and I keep buying more. I even bought a nice big leather chair and ottoman for my living room. it faces away from the TV as it is a READING chair.
Any and all recommendations are appreciated. I love finding new authors and hearing about books I haven't read.
I do need to make more time for reading. I currently am reading a book and listening to to an audio to and from work. I have just started listening to audio. It opens a whole new world to books if the author is good.
A little about me, I am a 45 year old mother of three, a son who is 27 and lives on the opposite coast from me :o( , a 25 year old daughter who lives on her own and a 21 year old son who lives with me. I have three female dogs, Sandy a 12 year old yellow Labrador, Bear an 11 year old Rottweiler, and Cinnamon a 10 year old Yorkshire Terrier. And I have a White Bellied Caique, Maia who is 9 months old, she is my avatar as you can see.
My family (children, dogs and parrot) and my books are my life.
