I love to read, I have been reading since I was a little girl. my mom tells me that she would hear me reading Dr. Seuss books. I didn't know how to read yet but from hearing them read to me and looking at the pictures, I was reading them. I remember begging my mom to buy me Nancy Drew books when I was a Brownie. I was reading adult fiction by...more »

Chiller Group - just wanted to let you know of some goings-on at the Chiller group. Nominations have started for our August author, deadline for nominations is July 11 at noon, so we have time to vote. Also, there is a contest for our group avatar where the prize will be a gift card to Amazon, B&N or Borders. There is a thread that tells you all the details. Thanks!

    Hello Beth!

Can I ask you a favor? I just started an activity on my new group for The Newton Prophecies and I was hoping (since you read the novel and enjoyed it) that you might go and participate in the activity. My wife came up with the idea and I think it might be really great fun!

    Thank you so much! =)

Thank you so much for joining the special group I've created for my book, The Newton Prophecies! I hope you will come and read about the book and all the fun and intriguing facts, theories, and hypothesis that went into writing it!

Please come ask questions and tell your friends to come do the same. I am looking forward to answering them. Writing this book was a lot of fun, I enjoyed the research tremendously. I cannot wait to read what you thought of the book. If you haven't read it yet I do have a limited number of ARCs still available at 50% off MSRP. If you live in the United States you'll pay just $7.50 plus $2.00 shipping for a signed trade paperback. The final edition will be available this holiday season (November) in both trade paperback and hardcover.

Again, I'd like to thank you for joining The Newton Prophecies group... See you soon! =)

I read Jodi Picoult before she was cool lol. Seriously I read My Sister's Keeper when it very first came out, and I tried a bunch of her other ones and there was only one I really liked as much and to this day I can't remember the name of it. It was about a sex crimes prosecutor who's son is molested. I have never read Moore, what does he write?

I have 2 basset hounds, Abby and Bob and a beagle Gracie Lou.

It was purely the writing style on Pretty Girls and I could not get with Wicked Snow to save me. It felt like a teenager or something had written. I hated The Ruins also, creepy plants, oooohhh. (Sorry just got back from Dairy Queen I'm a little wired). Change of Heart got one star because it was very The Green Mile. Same idea, put a lot less entertaining and engaging.

I have Newton to read yet, I am reading the Autobiography of Henry VIII right now and it is massive. I may have to split it up with some others I have to read. How did you like it?

I did belong to Suspense/Thriller but I left. Way too many books in too little time in regards to all the groups I belong to, and after The Dollmaker I felt I was slamming the author and I really wasn't, there were just things about he book that didn't do it for me. I bought another one of hers to read to make amends lol :-)

Hey Beth! Thanks for your offer of friendship. How did you find me? The 50 or 100 books challenge sites?

Wow, do you like the thrillers or what!? I do too, actually, but haven't read nearly as many as you have! I see we share a few of the same ones though. I like the Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Dorothy L. Sayers, Josephine Tey English group. I'm also a great fan of P.D. James. You might like her too!

    Hi Beth.
I am glad to be your friend. Seems like we have some things in common. I have a son who is 26 and one who is 23. I am an administrator for a home care company - travel a lot - and get to read in hotel rooms and airplanes. Can't imagine having a back bedroom full of books though! I am a library fanatic and love the fact that they are all FREE! Reading a quick mystery now and have another book I found on Shelfari named Slammerkin in the stack as well. Will need to start Mitchner's Alaska, as we are traveling there in August.

I live in South Georgia. I looked at your web site but don't recall where you live.

    Hi Beth!

I am so glad you enjoyed the book! Yes, I intend to write a sequel. I actually plan to write a few. There is a ton of story still to be written, as I am sure you can tell from the ending of this book. I cannot wait for the chat either; nor can I wait to get started on the next book. I have the next two DiBianco books pretty much planned out, just haven't started writing yet. This novel took me 6 months to write, so I hope to have the next installment in about a year. That said, I am also working on a couple other, stand alone novels, so I have my hands full. =)

How it ends, you mean? Well, that's simple. Everyone dies. All eaten by the vines. And just before the Greeks come, so I guess we're supposed to assume that they enter the vine infested mound and suffer the same fate, and with no warning, because everyone else is already dead and hidden away. I can't express to you how dissatisfied I was with the ending of that book. As good as I felt the writing was, I really ended up, nearly hating it. I swear, every time I spend a few more minutes thinking about it, I end up liking it less and less. LOL

For the Suspense & Thriller's Group...

We still have one member waiting to receive a copy of THE NEWTON PROPHECIES by Keith Katsikas. I’m hoping it will arrive soon. We have ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS to be discussed on the 15th and A WICKED SNOW on the 1st. Would it be too soon to schedule Keith’s book to be discussed on June 15th?
