I'm a police dispatcher and author of a novel called "Pit-Stop," which won the 2009 Eppie Award for Best Horror! "The Hollows" is also out, a time-bending thriller about an evil apartment complex. My next horror novel, "Pillar's Fall" will be out in August. But I love talking all kinds of books. Catch me here or find me on facebook or twitter!

Hi there. Just popping in to say I finally got around to Pit Stop, and I gotta say I enjoyed the hell out of it - pun utterly intended, of course :) * SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ IT * Even though I'd have much preferred the dark hope-crushing no-redemption Dustin-going-darkside and them all ending up back at the pitstop ending, because I'm a bit weird like that :D

    Hi Ben,

If you like Koontz, Cussler, Crichton, Flynn...you might like Catch.

A woman abducted by a mysterious organization. A troubled man trying to outrun his past. A power so terrible it possesses the ability to rip away the very fabric of the universe itself...

    I hope you'll check it out : ))

Hi Ben. I'm new on Shelfari. I found you because you have some of the same books on your shelf as I do. If you're interested in suspense novels, you may like my book "White Lies" which will be released by Oceanview Publishing later in the year. Cheers!

Hello again. Siiigh. The less said about the Lost finale, the better, no? After all that intrigue we get, they all died and went to heaven? What a copout :( But what do you think of Javier Bardem as Roland Deschain? Very iffy, IMO. I'd have loved to see Viggo Mortensen in the role.

Ben, I passed your new book around to my Shelfari friends, but they have it listed under Ben Eden, is that a typo or pseudonym ?

Okay Ben, I finished The Hollows last night and It totally rocked!!! I love how you laced the book to Pit-Stop via Scott & David. It made me feel like I was in on a secret. lol I fell in love with little Tess! ^_^ I hated for the book to end because I became so attached to the characters. David, Rennie, Elise, Mel & even ole Charlie. I don't know if I can wait until fall when the sequel comes out!
Anyway, I just wanted you to know that this book blew me away and I am so glad that I have these two books in my collection. You are a very talented writer!

Ben, I FINALLY got my copy of Pit-Stop and absolutely LOVED IT! I am really impressed. It must be so nice to know that you give the gift of escape. People get to read your stories and get lost. The day to day worries just melt away. I have just started The Hollows and I think I am going to love it as much. I'm so glad I met you. God bless you & your family.

    Ben,
Sorry i did not get back to you sooner, been very busy this time of year, just got a promotion at work and have had to relocate.
I'm about half way thru the book, all I can say is ...it was well worth the wait, it really is very good.
My plan is to enjoy a few pints of Guiness and finish your book this week end.

thanks for writing such a fine story,
    Robert

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for befriending me. I'm also a friend of Robert N's,

I work in a small independent bookstore in Oconomowoc, WI called BOOKS AND COMPANY. I'm going to look up your novel PIT STOP and see if I can get it from Ingram. Sounds great!

I just put aside a copy of Dan Simmons' CARRION COMFORT which was recently issued in a new paperback edition. Robert N. says it's quite a book. If it's anything like Simmons' SUMMER OF NIGHT then I know I'll enjoy it. I'm also looking forward to Joe Hill's new novel HORNS. Hopefully I'll be able to wrangle an advanced reading copy from somewhere.

    Happy Reading (and writing)!

    Ken
