Yeah! Will do. :)
Oh, you saw that, huh? ;)Yes, I didn't really like it much....kinda, well, depressing! hahaWe think similarly. :)~Agnes
Hey Anne~I admit, I had to go look up ''dystopia''....! Had no idea what that was! lolNow that I know, I must say, no, I have not read any of that style. Utopia or dystopia. Lizzie read 1984, with is the latter, but I never got around to it. Can you recommend any others to me? Or should I just look on your Shelfari wall, hehe....I have been reading a bunch of fantasy lately. But that's just how I read; I pick a genre and I read and read and read it until I'm utterly SICK of it, then I move onto another genre! Haha! Not the best way to read maybe, but I like my method. :) Works for me.
Uh huh... I saw those books on your wall, thought they looked interesting & well, I'll give 'em a try!I'll let you know what I thought of them, but you might have to remind me if I forget!! ;)love ya~ Agnes
Hello Anne!Good to see you here! I'm not on much anymore, but once in a while I pop in (about once a week) to try and update how many books I've been consuming. ;) I just recented finished an GREAT book called, "Same Kind of Different As Me", which I just added to my shelf & favorites list! It's a wonderful, very moving book--a true story too, about three people and how God saves each of them and brings them together in His big, amazing plan. :) I LOVED it.You should check it out. ;)How's your reading/listening adventures going? Have you read/heard anything neat lately?Blessing on your head! :)~Agnes
Hello Elena!Hmm...Persuasion. It is a good book, as those people told you. It's a story about about a couple, Anne and Frederick (Capt Wentworth) who fell in love while they were young. But, she came from a snobby, wealthy family, and he was only a poor private...so it was called off. Then, years later, they meet again. :) What happens? You've got to read it/listen to it to find out! ;) Not a fan of Hugo, eh? Hm! I'll have to look i up and see what's what about it. But if you didn't like it, I probably won't either. :P Save myself the worry.Oh, ME? What have *I* been reading? Well! let me jsut tell you, the Hunger Games trilogy (by Suzanne Collins) has completely 'done me in'! I'm hooked. O_o hehe... But I've also been reading other things too. :) What about you? :D~Agnes
How was "The Invention of Huga Cabret"? Sounds really interesting!~Agnes
My mom, sister, and I read "Oliver Twist" when I was about 9 or 10 for school! What most fascinated me was how he can set a scene. When he describes London at night in "Oliver Twist", for example, you can almost feel yourself walking through the fog, seeing the criminals and no-gooders brushing past you in a dank alley.
No, I am not being forced to read them! Being a musician and a lover of good theater, I think they should be pretty fascinating to read.
Thank You! Unfortunately I don't have a any of my art on a website or anything. But I do occasionally put some of my new art works on my shelfari picture.
Hey Elena! Long time no see, really! :PHow do you like the "101 Things You Didn't Know About Jane Austen"? I thought it was well researched and funny. :)
Hi Anne, thanks for joining my group! -Donna
Hi Anne!Haven't been on Shelfari in ages! I'm doing good, hope you are too. Rilla of Ingleside was great! It was a sadder than most other "Anne" books, but it was still excellent. I had been hesitant to read the last two because I was afraid I would find L.M. Montgomery's wit running out, like what happens to other series. But no, it was good right to the end. thanks for writing me!~shirleygirl
Hey there Anne~~~ [3 Looks like you have been reading a lot! If you don't mind ;) I'll just look around & get ideas, lol. :)~Agnes
That's okay. And I always like to hear other people's opinions on some of my favorite books. It's really hard to choose between my favorite book of the series! They are all so different, and are great for different reasons. I love the first one, Anne of Green Gables. The thing about this series is that time really flies by. I also love Anne's House of Dreams and Rainbow Valley. It's just soooo hard to choose! ;)
Hi, Cordelia. I saw some discussions in which I learned that you are a huge fan of L.M Montgomery. Well I definitely am Too! Maybe we can become "Bosom" friends? :)
