Truncated

I shuck books for a living and have a habit of biting off more than I can chew. My stack of "to-read" books is constantly growing. I need to read much faster. I remember reading somewhere that it would take almost a thousand lifetimes to read all of the fiction books in the world. That's a bit depressing, but oh well. I read a lot and write...more »

Hey, so where's my book rec???? Kidding. I've been really busy arguing with gunslinger36 about using Shelfari as ad space.

Anyhoo, i was looking through your shelf (quite a collection!) and the Raw Shark Texts jumped out at me, as you reviewed it pretty highly. Think I should read that one, or do you have something else in mind? I'll read almost anything.

What kind of a reading mood are you in now? that would help me narrow things down a bit, I thik!

How great is Black Swan Green? I loved it. I'm currently struggling through Cloud Atlas.

    Hey there!

we've been paired up in the Book Exchange, and I am a bit late getting to it.

I'll look through your shelves and se if I can come up with some titles for you!

Don't worry about looking through my shleves -- I have an obscene number of books on there and it wouldn't give you a good sense of what I read anyway, since I pretty much read anything except romance novels!

Hope I can suggest something you'll enjoy!

I've now watched Holy Mountain as well. It looks and sound fantastic. There is a little feature on the disc about the restoration, with the pre and post images running half and half on screen. The difference is spectacular.

I've only watched El Topo so far, but it looked pretty good. My that blood was red though. It's strange seeing it again after all these years. It's difficult to judge whether it is quaint and dated or absolutely brilliant. So much has come since that followed in its footsteps. I think one needs to kind of step back and see it with unprejuduced eyes. The image quality was fine and the audio too. The box includes soundtrack DVDs as well as the three films.
