    ah, that should be 'disheartening'...

you know, they make all these changes, add all this garbage supposedly to make our lives here easier...but the one thing we've all been clamoring for, for the last two years, an edit button for public notes, they have not yet seen fit to give us yet...a goddamn miserable EDIT button for public notes...

which just begs the question: how the hell do they justify it all?

well...I was at the castle this weekend, and the queen and I watched episodes 8, 9, and 10 of TrueBlood...Eric is rather adorable and it was nice to see him in it more, he looked very, ah...interesting in his bathtub, and yes, the black tees really do love him...but if I were you I wouldnt watch it anymore til you finish the books, they are going off into avenues that just dont exist, so much so that I'm wondering if Harris even recognizes her work anymore...it's really dishearing...the whole show is taking on this vicious, mean, and nasty edge that is so not in the books and is really making me batshit...I'm not one of those who whine about too much violence on tv, I dont give a damn about that, it's that they've so totally changed it, and not for the better...whot he hell is Eddie? there's no 'Eddie' in the books, or Amy, for that matter, and 'the Magister'? who came up w/ that crap? and why in christ's holy name did Bill kill Long Shadow and not Eric? and Paquin...jesus christ in purple-sequined thongs...what is w/ all the goddamn whining from her? Sookie doesnt whine, dammit...even my sister is not overjoyed by all this...what is the goddamn point of doing a series based on books if they're not going to follow the damn books?

    miserable fuckwits...

ugh, I always hated that 'in god's hands' crap...people who say that should burn in the hell I dont believe in, it should be built just for them...cant they just say it sucks cause it sucks? it's the truth, nothing I, or anyone else, says is gonna change things, though I sure wish I could wave the proverbial magic wand and do a bit of a rescue, but at least you know I know it sucks and we can commiserate together...but what I can do is distract you w/ silliness, like blond Viking vampires in hot pink spandex and red-eyed little bastard demons and soothsaying hunks named Gage...(grins)

you know, the same exact thing happened to me w/ The Moonstone, I know I'm gonna love it, I know it's gonna be a great read, and I know I'd been itching to read it for months, then when it was time...suddenly I just wasnt in the mood for it, damned if I know why either, maybe sometimes when you dont catch the breeze at the right moment it passes you by...eh, well...I'll get to it, likely early next year, I'm in no rush...you're right though, group reads do start to feel like school, especially if you're in too many of them, it's why I make absolutely certain I'll like the book before I commit...hence my avoidance of Angle of Repose...after reading the premise I didnt even consider it...my-crap detector rarely fails me, and I dont care what awards it won...same w/ The Painted Veil...it said 'blech' to me and I listened...

(grins) I love those scenes when Sookie calls Fangtasia and gets Pam, she takes Eric the phone and Eric answers, 'I am here', which I find really cute for some inexplicable reason, then Sookie asks her favor and after she does, Pam has the phone back, asking her, 'what did you say to Eric, he's got his eyes closed and he's shaking his head...' then the scene between him and Sookie when he shows up in his cute pink outfit...

oh, the queen (my sister) doesnt tape them, oh, no sirreebob, she has that cable hookup, On Demand, where she can watch whatever shows are available whenever she wants, however many times she wants, ha, on demand...no inconvenient taping or tedious tv guiding for the queen, oh no indeed...

yes, I wouldnt mind seeing Jason's dick wither and rot off, I'd not only watch that episode and tape it for my own viewing enjoyment, but Id throw a damn party, too, to celebrate his newly enforced celibacy...and yes, the hair, Sam's hair always looks like he poured the grease from the kitchen pan on it...is this a new fad or something? cause it is so not doing it for me...at least Eric looks scrubbed...I prefer my vampires and/or shapeshifters clean and sweet-smelling...I have a sneaking suspicion that Sam smells like a wet stray dog who recently rolled in a pile of fish guts...

(grins) we three will have to have a Pagan Stone party, then meet online after we're done, I'll put up a thread at BBD so we can drive everyone crazy...

The Hakawati is actually a good book to read in an episodic way...I did during the first half, then later buckled down w/ it when I got past the halfway point cause it got too interesting to put down...

I have tried hard, but it seems these books are not available (sigh). I recall seeing 'Ellen Foster' in a second hand book shop. But sadly, it's not there anymore. The regular book shops and my library do not carry these books. Humph. I guess you'll have to recommend something else. Even if I order those books online, it'll take 1 - 2 months for delivery.

In the meantime, let me think of which book to recommend to you!

I've gotten a few decent reads at DG. The books are usually shoved in a corner on one of those spinning wire racks. I was suprised that Pale Immortal was pretty good...maybe a little gruesome but very suspenseful and entertaining. I got my dollar's worth anyway:) I also picked up one by Cecilia Dart-Thornton, a fantasy writer. I've thought about reading her before but never followed through and bought one of her books. For a buck, I'm not losing much if she stinks!

Oh yes, Hugh Jackman is everywhere. I'm not complaining one bit! He's hot and gorgeous! Wow. Yes, I'd much rather stare at him then mess about with turkey and all the fixings. *swoons* Give me my fan back!

LOL! I think it's Anna P's weird mouth that bugs me the most. Her southern accent kind of blows, too. It's too bad they messed up the show but they usually do. I tried to watch that Legend of the Seeker based on Terry Goodkind's series and it is crap...done by the same people who made Xena and Hercules...

I think my mom is full of poop about the sex...! LOL about Marty Finkle:) hehe I just love the bad boy type...I have Nora's Circle Trilogy on it's way! I ordered it at Quality Paperback bookclub...can't wait!

That note was idiotic...what a tool. I'm tired of children bashing us with their tiny vocabulary of insults because we see through the hype surrounding the hacks they love so much. Grr. Yes, let's meet in the dungeon and ignore these crackheads! LOL

Hey! Tell your DH welcome to the DD fan club! Did you tell him about our 200 mile round trip to get DD coffee when we were in Oregon last summer?

I didn't tell you about Clark after the visit with the lawyer. He's driving me CRAZY! So we had to hire our own attorney down here. We both strongly suggested to him that he keep his answers short and to the point. As a former history teacher, this is VERY hard for him to do. But we both stressed we thought this was the best way to go. Well, he tried, he really did, but he did go overboard (awful pun) a few times. So the very next day, he's sitting at his computer, very serious with his "do not interrupt me" face, writing and writing and writing. This happened the nex 3 mornings. Then he called our attorney in Fort Myers and said he wanted to forward this additional information to the insurance lawyer. Our attorney said he didn't think that was a good idea. When he asked me what I thought, I said the same thing. So he said he was going to call our attorney back in CT. I have bowed out at this point. I do not know what he's done. MEN!
