Now that I'm older, I wish I had read more. And now that I'm older,
I will.General: I love Young Adult books. First from the fact that they are generally cheaper, and easy to access, but over time because I love the idea of watching someone grow, and come of age. The fight, the struggle, the difficulty of realizing the truth, responsibility, the love(s), and everything that follows.
While it's embarrassing to admit, I enjoy Romance the most.
It's usually hard to find a Romance novel that isn't verbal porn, or a Young Adult Romance novel that isn't.. well.. terrible. But nonetheless it's what I enjoy the most.
I also enjoy Fantasy and Supernatural/Paranormal elements. I'm not a huge fan of Science Fiction writing, but I'm not one to turn it down without a chance.
I usually end up reading what's 'popular', either before or after the huge fan wave takes over. More often than not, when a series becomes too popular, or
overrated, my interest fizzles out.
Favourites: Some of my favourite books are;
Pride and Prejudice,
Twilight (
ONLY),
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,
Kamikaze Girls,
Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry,
Stargirl,
The Boggart (
series),
Blood and Chocolate and
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monster AND
The Battle of the Labyrinth.
But those are really just a few that personally stand out.
While I know some of them aren't the greatest; with the best plot, writing style, and by be seen as childish, each book has a meaning to me.
Personal reasons, or times in my life, that they high-lighted my love reading.
I'd love to hear any recommendations, don't be shy. :)
