In your eagerness to tick off pages and find out what happened next you didn’t always appreciate the elegance of the prose. You envy the next reader, the one... more »

I really did enjoy it! I love a good family saga murder mystery ... makes me happy about how much less messed up my own family is LOL

I'm sure a lot was lost in translation. For me, it was hard getting over the first part, it was pretty boring. Lisbeth is an interesting character though, I am looking forward to the next book and the movie looks great, the original, that is. Laura said they're re-doing the movie with Brad Pitt .... blergh!

I"m ALMOST finished The Book of Negroes ... I'm holding off to finish it closer to the actual Book Club date for it. I really, really like it! I'm trying to get through Fool during the day and Brothers Grimm tales at bed-time. I find if I'm reading an actual novel at bed time, I'll be asleep within 5 pages! LOL This way with the tales, I can read two or three.

If you haven't read Christopher Moore's blog, you should - it's quite funny too.
