Because of my job as a hair dresser, I like to read books that is not too “fluffy.” I gravitate toward medical books, biographies and metaphysical, although once in awhile I will read fiction. I thrive on stimulating my brain and I really appreciate a well-written book. It’s funny, depending on what’s going on in my life, will determine if I seek out a book to be absorbed & pondered (do people still use that word?) or one that is a fluffy, easy read. I love passing a newsstand or book shelf and seeing all the things that I’ve put into my brain . . . (not that it’s stayed there)! I am one who believes that the brain is a muscle which requires use. A wise person once told me to read as often as possible about all kinds of issues & topics and above all, to stay current. If I could give young people advice, this is exactly what I’d pass on. Because of my desire to learn in so many areas, I feel that I could have a conversation with just about anybody. Good luck with what you put in your brain!
