As my name implies, I have wonderful boys: Ichigo Kurosaki (15), Megaman NT (11), I Like Cookies (8½), and Eater of Worlds (3½) (ok, last one isn't actually on Shelfari yet but the other three are).

I've been married to my wonderful lifemate for 15+yrs now and still very much in love with him.

I've been reading avidly since... more »

Hey 4boyz4me! I saw that you are a fan and wanted to invite you to a new(ish) group called Anne McCaffrey and All of Her Worlds or you can paste this link in your browser: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/43659/about. Not only are we discussing the majority of her books but we also are doing a book of the month with her work (just started on DragonFlight!), we also like to keep eachother updated on other good reads and good movies/tv shows we might be watching at the moment. You should come check out the group and if you interested drop by and introduce yourself!

    Happy Readings (and Happy Friday!)

Sorry that it's taken me forever to respond to your last comment. Name of the Wind was fantastic. I just re-read it along with Zafon's newest book The Angel's Game which a sort of prequel to The Name of the Wind.

Been reading a lot Tamora Pierce as of late, as well as Laurell K.Hamilton's stuff (both Anita and Meredith Gentry), as well as The Pellinor series by A.Croggon.

What have you been up to book wise as of late?

Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!

I'll definitely check out those authors you mentioned. They shall go in my wallet list (the list of books I want that does LITERALLY go in my wallet). lol.

As for Earthsea, i'm actually re-reading it right now. I've read the first one twice, but never the other ones. I own the second book in the series: The Tomb of Atun (think that's it anyway?), but when I tried to read it recently I realized that I needed to jog my memory about the plot of the first book. So that's part of my spring break reading list...

Name of the wind is good so far. It was recommended to me by two friends who swear by it. Must be good then right?

I really am enjoying the character development, and all that jazz.

Abundance is definitely worth reading. I admit that i've been half way through it for about a year and a half and still haven't finished it. BUT that has nothing to do with the novel itself, only my obsession (at that time) with Harry Potter. I stopped reading all books at that point to pursue a lifestyle as a typical Snape fan-girl. As they say, fanfiction is the afterlife.

Enough rambling on my part....The book is fantastic and I really recommend it. :)

Favorite Authors? It's hard to narrow them all down! lol.

At the moment I have elevated Steve Barry to Favorite author status, as well Laurell K. Hamilton (author of the Anita Blake series). I of course love anything written by Jacqueline Carey. As for the others i've stuck with for a LONG time, Christopher Paollini, Marrion Zimmer Bradley, Garth Nix, Tamora Pierce, and Juliet Marillier. J.K. Rowling gets her own sentence since i'm such a die hard Harry Potter fan. Also I really love Jim Butchers writing, and Dan Brown.

That's the list that comes to mind.

Which Book signing did you go to? I went to one for Kushiels Justice about three years ago, but I missed the Kushiels Mercy signing. :(

I was just browsing through your book shelf *laughs* and it seems that you and I have quite a bit in common book wise. Oh, and Jacqueline Carey is beyond fantastic. You won't be disappointed with either Kushiel's Scion or Kushiel's Justice. They are both really well done!

I read instead of t.v. most nights, but not for long since I get up at the crack of dawn. So, I have to move more slowly through each book. But, I would love to expand my horizons a bit. And, I'm lost without a book to read, so the suggestions here will be great. I am not sure how much we'll cross over in our interests, but thanks for the offer to browse your shelf. I have typically been a historical fiction gal, but I am open-minded :-). At my daughter's suggestion, I read all the Twilight books over winter break. She's the one with the biggest book shelf in the house and I usually go to her for recommendations. I just referred her to this site, too. (I also subscribe to a "Chapter-a-Day" book club that is sent to my e-mail daily. If I like what I read, I order it from the library).

Thanks. I'm tempted, but that dog sounded really sweet. I wouldn't want to pull you away from it. How about we meet you there at five, and maybe get some coffee afterwards?
