  • Black Butler, Volume 1
    • Rated 5 stars

    ~ Please Grade AGW ~
This book is about a young boy named Ciel Phantomhive, who lives in a huge mansion house near London. Ever since his parent's death, he has been heir to the Phantomhive business (Funtom Company) and riches, leaving him more than enough money to afford a butler and a few people to keep the mansion running smoothly. But Ciel's butler, Sebastian, is no ordinary butler. He is able to perform the ordinary tasks any butler could be expected to... but also things you might find unusual in a house hold butler's job description...

    Main Characters:
-Ciel- the surprisingly grown-up twelve year old, also the head of the Phantomhive family.
-Sebastian- Ciel's devoted butler and bodyguard.
-Baldo/Baldroy- Ciel's cook... though he rarely makes anything actually edible...
-Finny/Finnian- Ciel's gardener... but due to his abnormal strength... he is usually responsible of ruining the garden... and also everything or anyone he touches.
-Mey-Rin- Ciel's maid... who is really clumsy at times, and is often seen breaking things or stumbling and falling.
-Elizabeth- Ciel's cousin and also his fiancee, not by choice anyways.

I really liked this book... it was really funny at parts, and also kinda serious at others. Just the right balance.

  • Alice in the Country of Hearts Volume 1
    • Rated 5 stars

    ~ Please Grade AGW ~
This book is about a girl named Alice. The story starts out when she and her sister are outside together. Alice is napping and her sister is reading a book, which happens to be "Alice in Wonderland". Her sister suggests they should play cards, so she goes to fetch them.. but while she is away.. Alice falls asleep once more.
She awakes to see a white rabbit calling out to her, telling her to follow her. At first she thinks she is still dreaming, but then the rabbit picks her up and throws her down a huge hole... and reality sets in. And when she reached the bottom of the seemingly bottomless hold, the rabbit forces her to drink a small bottle of liquid and tells her she is now part of a "game". A twisted game.. but a game.
Now the only way for Alice to make it back to her own dimension, she must again fill the bottle. Every time she interacts with a resident of the strange country, a drop of the liquid is returned to the bottle. The question is.. will she last that long?

I really loved this book. It was a mix of all the things i like in a book; it was funny, suspensful, fast and at times.. cute. Hopefully the next book will be at Barnes and Nobles next time I go.. because it's not in the school library ) :

This series never fails to make me laugh... its so adorable and I really like the characters. It gives the book character.
Anyways.. this book is about Oz, Gilbert, Break, Alice and Sharon's quest to recover Alice's memories from the past that have mysteriously vanished and to discover what Oz's "sin" was. In the process of looking, when they are in a local town's square.. Gilberts hat is stolen. So, of course, there is a massive contest to see who gets the hat. And in the midst of the contest.. Break forces Alice into the dimension of the Cheshire Cat, in which there is no return. Will Oz and Gilbert be able to rescue their friends with the help of Sharon?..

  • Daniel X: The Manga
    • Rated 5 stars

    ~Please Grade AGW~
Okay. . this is another manga that I read. It is mainly about a 15 year old boy named Daniel X. He dosen't really have a last name.. just X. His parents were killed when he was only three years old, by an alien called the Prayer. They were murdered because of their job. Their job was to hunt aliens. Now, that they are dead.. Daniel has taken up their profession. Also, he has the unique ability to create anything he can think of with his mind, including his parents and his best friends.

His parents left behind a book with a list of all the names of the aliens that they were trying to get rid of. They all have numbers next to their names, with 1 being the best. And the next alien on the list is no. 6, which is the lfirst alien with a number in the top 10.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Main Characters:
Daniel - 15 year old alien hunter. He dosen't really know where he came from.
Willy - a figment of Daniel's imagination.. also his best friend
Joe - another one of Daniel's friends .. he is always eating.
Emma - (also Daniel's friend) an extreme naturalist.
Dana - Daniel's best friend that's a girl. She is also his crush.
Phoebe - the new girl at Daniel's highschool. (extremely pretty)
Seth - the no. 6 alien Daniel is after.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really liked this book because it is hilarious. Also because of Daniel's personality.. he's kinda happy-go-lucky (which I like). And I hope I can find the second volume real soon.

  • Bamboo Blade, Volume 2
    • Rated 4 stars

    ~Please Grade AGW~
Okay. This is a manga mainly about a kendo club. I really liked it because it was really hilarious.
It starts out when a really poor man named Kojiro, who is living on instant noodles makes a bet with an old highschool rival of his named Senpai that his kendo team could beat his kendo team. And if Kojiro wins, he gets a years supply worth of sushi free from Senpai's dad's sushi resteraunt. But.. if Senpai wins, Kojiro has to give him a trophey he won in a kendo match against him, which Kojiro originally won. This wouldn't be a problem except for two reasons:
    1. Kojiro accidentally smashed the trophey while attempting to kill a bug and
    2. he only has 4 people on his team, and he needs 5 for a proper match.

    ---------------------------------------------------
    Main Characters:
~Kojiro = a poor man who runs the school kendo club.
~Tama-chan = the smallest and maybe the best member on the team.
    ~Dan-kun = a really ugly/chubby little boy who is dating Miya-Miya.
~Miya-Miya = a really pretty girl dating Dan-kun. She has a bad habit of smoking.
~Saya = a really random person, she has a habit of quitting things and coming back the next day.
    ~Kirino = the girl's kendo team's captain.
    ~Senpai = Kojiro's arch rival.

This manga was pretty awesome. It is also the first book in the Gentlemen's Alliance Cross series. It's about a 15 year old girl named Haine, who was sold at age 10 by her rich father in return for a business loan of 50 million yen. Now she attends the Imperial Academy, an upper class highschool for the rich. At school she is a bronze rank, which is the equivalent of economy. She is working hard to become a silver rank (business). The only person allowed to be gold rank (first class) is the Student Council President, Shizumasa Togu or "The Emperor". Shizumasa is the man who Haine falls in love with.
    ________________________________________________________
    Main Characters:
~Haine - a cheerful 15 year old who is in love with Shizumasa.
~Shizumasa - the president of the student council, he appears to dislike Haine, but..?
~Ushio - Haine's bestest friend, she seems to only smile for Haine.
~Maguri - he's a happy-go-lucky guy, as well as the student council vice president.
~Maora - childhood friends with Maguri.. but now not so much. She's actually kind of strange and enjoys playing tricks on people.
