I haven't read anything great lately. I wish there was a so-so rating on here. Some of the books I have given three stars really were more of a two and a half. I did like Stephen King's latest - 11/22/63. I see you have 50 Shades of Grey on your to read list. I am on the fence about that one. It certainly has created a lot of talk!
I am so happy to receive your letter! That is so cute that you thought about us when you saw The Super Why diplay. I can't believe your little one is already 4 wow time do fly. I am on facebook Deemarie Parsons I still using my maiden name:) Emmy, ,Dawn, Kim and Jennifer are still there. They made a board and sometimes we also talk there.
We are doing well I sign us up to the YMCA/YWCA and my husband and I have gone 3 times and work out for a hour. We plan on doing it a least 5 days a week. I sign Angelic for ballet/tap and Jazz and she is doing the class from 3:30-4:30p.m more cheaper than the dance school I had her in from June to September for 2 years. I saw her old teacher at the Haloween Parade and she came and hug us. She said "I see you". I thought you will see me around in the street but not back in the dance studio LOL. Angelic did had a great time but it was expensive. She will be having a recital at the Y on the 21 of December after 7 classes. In January I will sign her again and also swimming classes. I can't wait to see you as my friend on Facebook.I also enjoy talking to you on the board, e-mail and Facebook. See You soon on Facebook.
Long time we do not talk.I even had a hard time remembering the name of this site and today I did.I hope you had a great Hallowen. Can you believe the girls are in 2nd grade.Yesterday we got snow in October an lost power. It came back at 5p. for good. The snow was to heavy for the power line but perfect for snow ball fight LOL.I have not seen that here in PA before.Yesterday we play, sled and threw snow ball at each other.Today church service and sunday school was cancel. We are staying home and make cookies.Later photos in the snow:) I hope you are doing well and your family too.Hope to hear from you soon. Your friend Deemarie and Angelic.
If you (or Jill) recommend a book, a television show, etc...that often proves to be an excellent choice for me also. We do not all appreciate the same genre of books, films, TV...but we have many tastes that overlap...i.e. the show "Master Chef" and "The Amazing Race"....two shows I absolutely love as well as the novel WATER FOR ELEPHANTS!
Thanks for your comment.
I just came on here and look to my right and saw your post writing 8 month ago. I am so happy to hear from you.You left Facebook and I diid not see you on the board anymore. Back them I got a computer virus on facebook after taking a element suvey. What type of Element are you? I had to fix my PC and delete everything from Facebook. I am back on but with less people and I do not take surveys or play games there. I learn my lesson plus I promise DH not to play them:)
My family is doing well. My husband just celebrated his 30 years at his job. He is thinking on early retirement. This can be done in NYC. Both Angelic and I are ready to have him home Sunday to Saturday. He is off on Sunday and Monday and then works Tuesday to Saturday. God willing Angelic will have her wish before she turns 7.
Angelic is doing well in school. I just had a meeting on Monday of this week and I got the test results on her IQ. She took 2 test The KBIT-2 and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for children(WISC-IV). She will be receiving gifted services. Now I have to sit down with another lady and man that will write everything down for her IEP so I know the services she be getting. I sat down with this wonderful lady from the school district and she talk to me for a hour. She help me get the ball rolling. I also invited her on Monday to listen to the test result. She told me if I need anything to call her. As you know Angelic was born a premie so I have always want to know if she is doing as well as her peers born full terms. I knew she is smart but I wanted the expert to tell me how she is doing.
I am doing well on Monday I had my first mamogram. I just turn 40. It came back negative so I am very happy that went well.
The Frog and Toad book are some of her favorites. Last month I took her to the library and had her sign her name and last name and she receive her library card. She was very happy. I hope to hear more from you. I always enjoy reading about you and your pretty family.
50 is a lot of books. I know I couldn't do it! I read 26. Like you, some were long. Like SK's Under The Dome.
The Corrections is OK so far. I got a bunch of books for Christmas. Nothing makes me happier than to have a stack next to my bed just waiting to be read:)
Happy New Year to you too!
Thanks for your nice compliment! I do love historical books. However, lately the national news has been scary enough so...I have been immersed in Janet Evanovich's world of Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter. This series gets me laughing-out-loud!
By the way, Patricia Cornwell books scare me too :0
Hi Andrea:) I read the Peter Straub books at least 20 years ago. I don't remember that much about them to be truthful. I would put them in the horror/suspense/thriller genre. He is often compared to Stephen King. I do remember thinking they were pretty good.
I got to hear Stephen King speak about Under The Dome in December. He was great. He read from the book and then took questions. He was pretty funny and very gracious. I was thrilled enough just to hear King, but they surprised everyone by having him introduced by John Irving! I almost fell off my chair. He spoke for a bit too. Great evening:)
Happy New Year! I have heard of the Sookie Stackhouse books and I think I have the first in the series sitting on my to-be-read shelf at home. Haven't gotten to it yet. As much as I loved Twilight - I'll have to check that out if they're saying those are just as good.
Right now, I'm totally addicted to J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts' In Death series. I've read a ton this year and have about 10 more in the series to read to catch up.
But, if you're into hot, adult vampire love - I started the Lara Adrian Midnight Breed Series and they're good and HOT! I have a girlfriend who's read them all and she loves them too!
Also, on my list of great books for 2009 was The Strain. Absolutely zip romance, but crazy vampires! I devoured that book!
I didn't go back through your list to see if I just totally was redundant in telling you about books you've already read. Sorry if so.
Hope your holidays have been happy and safe!
