I'm sorry, but I read The Master of Ballantrae so long ago that I can't remember anything about it, especially since I read all of Stevenson's books at once. If you want a review so badly, I guess you'll have to read it yourself :)

I give July's people 3 stars (of five). It's an interesting story, but I didn't really connect emotionally with the main character.

I'd like to help but it really didn't stick with me well enough to write a review. Not my favorite...

    The Nun Denis Diderot
    3 stars

A young girl is forced to enter the convent – sad story – but this is only the surface of the real meaning of Diderot’s book. The picture of the corrupted religious institutions and people in it – controversial story – but this is not the deepest meaning of the story. The reflections about intolerance and overuse of the power over other human beings – this is what is hidden between the lines.
A surprisingly interesting book, especially if one knows that Diderot wrote it as a practical joke aimed to make Diderot’s friend - the Marquis de Croismare come back to Paris.

Sure: In a Glass Darkly. 4 Stars. An interesting collection of gothic horror short stories. I enjoyed reading them although I'm not normally very into short stories in general. I especially liked the last story, Carmilla. It was predictable but well-written and at times a little creepy.
