Hi Kim! The quote is wonderful. Your dream is your reality; your vision is what you become. My heart believes, but this head of mine questions too much. I do love optimistic people. A great idea to hold. Love you, Mama

  • The Ancient One

    The Ancient One says

He who cherishes a beautiful vision, a lofty ideal in his heart, will one day realize it. Columbus cherished a vision of another world, and he discovered it. Copernicus fostered the vision of a multiplicity of worlds and a wider universe, and he revealed it. Buddha beheld the vision of a spiritual world of stainless beauty and perfect peace, and he entered into it.

Cherish your visions. Cherish your ideals. Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.

To desire is to obtain; to aspire is to achieve. Shall man's basest desires receive the fullest measure of gratification, and his purest aspirations starve for lack of sustenance? Such is not the Law. Such a condition of things can never obtain - "Ask and receive."

Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your Vision is the promise of what you shall one day be. Your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.

The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.

    Hi Kim, again,
Here's a 3rd book for your homework! Into the Forest by Jean Hegland. This was written a number of years ago but is so current, it's frightening. One of those futuristic novels about the country collapsing and everything's going to hell. But the story is more about 2 sisters' love for each other and their survival ( a la pioneer) skills. The book is beautifully written. I enjoyed it as much as any book I've read lately. The writing alone is enough to read it. My book club did. Love, Mama

    Kim,
Another book, somewhat on the spiritual side, is Eat, Pray. and Love. I really enjoyed it. It's about a lot of Eastern philosophy that's fascinating to me. I heard that it's going to be a movie.
    I love you, Mama

    Hi Kim,
I just finished reading The Shack and you must read it so we can talk about it. It is very spiritual and breaks down some concepts everyone wonders about. I put question marks by the paragraphs my brain can't connect to yet. But overall it leaves me with a very good feeling. The book is funny at times as well as mysterious, mystical, and wonderful about unconditional love!

The Camel Club and The Collectors by David Baldacci are both very good books that Tom may enjoy. I also enjoyed Memorial Day and Acts of Treason by Vince Flynn. I have both of those in paperback if you or Tom are interested. Love, Jackie
